Well i didn't take it over that at 185 another time so i cant confirm its 100% accurate.. I mean it would only be a 2.7% difference

one thing i am not sure might have bypassed the limiter is.. im using a Liberty Cluster (220km/h) and also i had to swap the speed sensor from a Mechanical driven type to a Electrical dohicky..

so maybe the ECU gets the signal from the cluster... and the cluster in my case is not sending that signal to the ECU.

from what i know the ECU only limits the RPM so as not to go over the speed..
next time i have a long private road.. ill test it past 18 again ;)

p.s. i Rang my RX (ej25D) out over 190 on the way to Mildura.. no limiter..

i took a work commo out to 150 on the same road and shat bricks as it just swayed lane to lane.. never did it again!

Speedo is probably not that accurate at those speeds. If your running a JDM ecu it will have a 180km/h limit.

I fitted a HKS speed cut defender to my GT with JDM V3 ECU.

220km/h+........ alledgedly........ ;)

I'm still running the RX cluster aswell.

I'd assume we would have the same setup. Who knows. I didn't do it, lol!

Quick update..

Car is being prepared for Winton on the 15th of June... and then the following weekend all going good, she'll be accompanying me to Hunter Valley Cruise the following weekend ;)

Recently done:
- (New Projectors) - thanks Mark

Upcoming mods:
- Rebuild the 4Pots this weekend
- New DBA T3 4000S Slotted Rotors
- Fit the QFM pads front and back
- Alloy control arms (Maybe.. Can anyone confirm if there is a change in track width? )
- Power FC is going in this weekend (has been tuned to 198atw for the previous owner with same mods excluding the Intake and Fuel Pump, so I'm hoping she hits the magical 200+ without any dramas and more importantly.. gain some Fuel Economy back haha)
- Refurbed 440cc's should be back and ready to be installed early next week also.

All going well she should be back up and ready to roll in 2 weeks!

Just read this thread and it makes me so keen for the day i get a half cut.

That steering wheel looks familiar ;)

so maybe the ECU gets the signal from the cluster... and the cluster in my case is not sending that signal to the ECU.

Can confirm this is how it works. Found out while doing some research into putting a gen 3 cluster in my BD

Well i should have the Power FC in this weekend so i can test all these theories.. ill see what the ecu is reading.. if its not getting a speed reading then i know what i need to splice into for the fix.

but i am actually more sure that the GPS was out..by 2.7% rather than my Wiring is off..i have read into everything more and i would have got a CEL for VSS if the above was the case...
but i think you must have read the same thing as I did RE how the signal is sent from the Cluster.. it is confusing with so much information... much of which is absolute BS and hearsay i might add.
Ahhhh, the pleasures of self diagnosis lol

I think only the gen 2 ecu reads it from the cluster. I know the gen 3 gets it from the vss. Not sure a about imprezas though
