I use to run 18x9.5 grids for a while and they were okay, just can't have it completely slammed. (my guards are rolled and slightly pumped.)

ill get back to you on fuel consumption

I've noticed that i have a very faint ticking noise when driving in gear at low revs. When I put the clutch in or at a set of lights its gone not there (audible) but when im just cruising along in gear low in rev range (i get a very faint ticking noise). Is this I should be something to worry about or can it be a number of things EG. loud 800cc injectors and fuel rails? Its not a pinging noise like rocks in there its just a tick like a loud spark.

Also, Has anyone had any dramas with just after you fill up at the petrol station first start always wont start. turns over but then dies like a dead battery. I've had a few mates with the same problem it turns over perfectly the second time like it hasn't pressurized the fuel into the car yet.

Can you hear your fuel pump prime? And do you let it prime before cranking?

I find mine always does this when I put 95+ octane fuel in. The higher the octane, the worst it is. Even after letting the pump prime itself. I turn the key for a couple seconds and it rolls over and fires, but wont completely start. Try again a second time and it's starts in the first half a crank? I've never figured out what it is. I just thought it was a Subaru thing as mates have the same problem.

Car is looking absolutely schmick BTW, the 'black out' inner front air dam is a sweet idea!

Mine does it too. But I kinda keep it going the first time and it EVENTUALLY kicks in and starts after about 4-5 seconds. But when it starts it really struggles!! I may have to try letting it crank over for ~2 seconds, stop, then start again and see if starts in the first half crank like you mention..

..Actually, a couple times I've accidentally brought the key back to the 'on' position before it's gotten far enough to start, and when I re-start it straight after, it does start extremely quick.

- Does any of your Libs or other suby's make that ..scratching sound just after it starts? I've been told it's the starter motor being lazy and disengaging slowly and therefore rubbing on something .. or something like that

45's are too tall - you'll look like a 4WD.

The same thing happens if I just keep cranking. Same with the super quick start if I time it properly.

Good thing about the N/A Gen 3's is that the starter motor is easy to drop and clean. It sounds like a relay or contacts in the starter getting stuck on. Same things happens with commodores. Two bolts and she comes out, then spray some contact cleaner around the contacts etc. If i lives near you, I'd come give you a hand haha

Could it possibly be a chipped tooth in the driveline somewhere? (Gearbox/ Diff) Noisy lifters? You said it was only when your in gear driving? Maybe try popping the bonnet and getting a long tube or screwdriver, placing one end on your ear and the other end around the engine to see if you can narrow down where the noise is coming from?

When I went to work tonight, I tried it out. A quick turn to 'start' back to 'on' then back to start, and it started so quick. I guess i'll do that more often now.
Mang, where do you live!? Lol I'd like to give it a go, but only with someone there with some know-how.

Edit, just looked under your avatar.... :(

Mechanic reckons its just the lifters as they probably haven't been replaced ever.
