  1. Nissan VQ30DETT V6 with twin GTR turbos and twin intercooler, custom inlet manifold, 5MT (2 votes [4.44%])

  2. Voted Toyota 1GZFE 5l V12, pipes, throtte bodies. 6MT (27 votes [60.00%])

Done a bit on Crackas shitbox over the weekend. Converter done and fitted. Fitment was spot on(built by converter shop in Brisbane). Fitted the big finned pan and bogan rice Lokar dipstick. Made and plumbed a radiator header, fitted some thermos and auto cooler, made the cold side pipes and remade the back half exhaust and welded it all up.

Stupid video is in **** letterbox form. Stupid phones farking.

In the midst of tuning. The VVT is not operating as yet, still trying to figure that out. Don't think the 1JZVVT trigger mode likes having a second cam to control.

Makes 350hp atw at 8psi and flatlines. Could be the converter too, it flares to 4k despite the 2800 rpm target rating.

It makes bulk torque from idle, will just have to see if we can get some more numbers out of it so we can win the internet.

Is all that torque making the converter flairy, or is it just a dodgy one?



Also, looks odd sitting on a dyno like that!

It's a $1500 converter shop unit so certainly not dodgy. It's just a bit hard to estimate the torque output of a turbo V12 that noone knows anything about.

Tight fit in the short Benz engine bay? Did you have to do anything with the firewall?

Also, the intake looks narrow. Did you shorten the runners?

Yes, no ,yes.

The tunnel copped a massage for the T56 but it fits ok. These engines are very compact.

A V12 and a 6sp manual in a compact Euro body, can't really ask for much more.

Well done.




I really miss my first job, doing engine and trans conversions. The head scratching was the most fun......ah well.
