Hey dudes, its been a ugly day here in Melbourne so while the rain has stoped i quickly took a few flicks. Picked her up last month for $2700. Super clean engine which got me smiling. Pretty happy with it so far as its my first car so I cant complain. 254 od k's on the dial, hoping theres still at least 200 od ks left. Heard these are quite the workhourses & good value!

A few minor exterior repairs needed.
The main one is the bonnet. Lots of paint stripping. Im assuming this wouldn't be difficult to do myself with the right prep work. Also abit on the roof.
There is a minor rust on the edge of the skirt. Basic diy sand and fill.
Touch up paint here and there.
All up this car is just super clean. I'm liking the 15" wheels on it however i am considering getting 16" wrx wheels at some point to boost up the coolness. Maybe a gunmetal colour to contrast the bermuda blue?

Also does anyone know anything about squeaky brakes during low speed braking? Its happening only on the front right side. I've checked the pads and still have plenty of wear in them. I've sprayed them a few times during the week with this brake cleaner product but it didnt work. Maybe needs different branded pads. It is annoying. If anyone could help, cheers.....

Anyway thats the shizz so far. I'll post up my DIY mods soon.
Might install some fog lights in next week/ weather permitting.

Welcome to subyclub, mate!

Great first car to get you started.

Re bonnet - should have a go at vinyl wrapping. Much cheaper than a respray and would look tits with the car's lighter colour.

Re wheels - I say get some nice WRX 17s like in this for sale thread. They suit your car to a tee.

Then lower it.

MAAAAD

EDIT: The pictures in that thread seem to be broken. These are the wheels I mean -

Will consider the vinyl wrapp. I just had a geese at sams thread the Vinyl wrapped outback.
3M Matte Black vinyl could look MAAAAD. Definitely cheap enough!
those Wheels are nice. With 17" wheels would i have to roll the arches?

Nah you'll be fine with 17s. Its when you get 18s and wind coilovers right down that you need to roll guards.

Finally it was dry enough to install some foggies!
All wiring went well except i didnt splice down enough into the parking light wire to get a proper connnection.
Pretty pleased with my first mod efforts ; )

Tidy gen1 man! as morgan suggested, 17 'wrx' wheels would like mighty fine, with some lowerage.

Would recommend the vinyl wrap and then black /dark wheels ftw :) -OR go all out with a rad colour for some uniqueness!

foggies look the goods! :)
