As far as I can tell, a discount on a GoPro is like getting a cheap Apple product.

The difference is there a plenty of imitators however the GoPro is the best in it's class

Apple just make shit look fancy and charge more rather, where as you can get faster and better computers for less because is not dressed up

Slow Mo is done in editing, using TWIXTOR. Not saying that the camera doesn't help with that awesome quality. But twixtor basically inserts "fake" frames in between the real frames to do the slow motion. Depending on the shot you can spot if its twixtor or not be seeing a bit of a wavy edge if the motion is a bit too complex
