My block is about 1000m2 and I have the same issue in summer. I think we may even share the same type of lawn.

 

I ended up making a 2 bay brick compost bin.

One side I add to, the other side rests.

I have an opening in the bottom of both sides so when the 'adding pile' gets too high I can pull some out from the bottom (almost completely decomposed) and add it to the top of the 'resting pile'.

 

I have never had a green waste bin. ;)

Thats a good idea! I've seen em out of pallets too. But I cant get the pallets home from work in one piece, haha


I'm on 1200m2 small house and no landscaping. Kikuyu grows like a lunatic in summer!!! Im hoping to get a self propelled mulcher soon.
