Do you hit the terrain parks??

Neg.
Dude at Paul reader in the city reckons they would be a good ski though for what I wanted, which was most runs and doing some exploring and shit, apparently decent on powder and good on rougher stuff.

Ive always liked Rossignol skis. The bandits from afew years ago were epic. But im out of the loop alittle with skis now. They have so many different types of rockers. How much you looking to spend?

Some thing like this would be a very good all mountain ski.

I feel like I did horribly!!!

But I think they are designed that way.

1300 applicants.
150 to the test stage.

3 will be successful....

Yeah, they do make it harder than it should be to see how you handle the pressure, but they do hope you will get most of the stuff right...

Is it IQ test-ish?

No idea. Reading stuff. Did okay in that, just didn't get the timing right, didn't get to finish.

Some bullshit forking pattern thing. Which I think I went pretty badly in!

And the. A mechanical aptitude test which I went well in

Haha... no need to stress man...

Whatever is meant to happen will happen... just try your best... I'm sure they consider more than just the test...

Kinda tempted to apply for an electrical apprenticeship at work. Dunno how well they'd take it, but i guess i have almost 4 years experience on site, they have already put me through the training. fork like/dogging/ewp. i'd be 26 when i finished, have 8years experience in the company (which will be private by then) and have an electrical/mechanical trade.

Im so over being an apprentice, but at the same time its pretty easy.

Also tempted to apply for supercheap auto LOL

This job sounds pretty sweet. First 6 months is all at tafe!

Then 6 months on surface on site.

Then the rest is fully underground for 2 years on day shift, then the last 2 years you are on whatever shift.

Tafe is 1 week every month, instead of one day a week

Sounds pretty good Adam... good experience too... just got to see how it goes...

@Mark: Apprenticeship sounds good... yeah the hard work and low pay at the start sucks, but it pays off in the end, right? Lol! and SCA?

i did my first 6months at tafe, its pretty boring all just basic hand skills.

not sure about that company but my mate who works for Xtrata, rather then being paid a 'coal bonus' weekly (his wages were goos anyway) that 'bonus' went into like a pool that built up over 4 years, and you got it at the end of your time if you completed. so that was nice 35k cash bonus he got (after tax) and then got put on permanent night $hift as a tradie.

Yeah it wouldnt be that much of a pay cut for me to go back to a 1st year at my work. i wouldnt need to change much in my life thats for sure :)

was joking around with a guy at work about how much better/easier it would be to work at super cheap. not getting covered in coal dust and grinding dust, just tell people the wrong oil to put in there car and install wiper blades :D
