Hi all,

Since I bought my 2001 Gen III Liberty Wagon, I've noticed that the acceleration or throttle response wasn't the best. The transmission seems to hold gears rather than dropping down a gear when I throttle on too. The VCS and check engine light sporadically turn on and off together and the car seems to go into limp mode and I lose power. Sometimes while warming up my car the lights turn on and off until it's pretty warm and I start driving.

I took it to a mechanic who has it at the moment and he advised that there's a code showing an issue with the knock sensor. He tried hooking it up to the A/T and he said he's not able to get a connection to it and thinks there might be something wrong with the A/T computer and that's what's causing all the problems.

What do you guys think?

Knock sensors are a common issue so I would start with that.

If it is falsely signaling knock, the ECU will pull out some timing which kills power output.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
