Serviced my car with Cam this morning delvac, filter, UEC and tires rotated
Also fitted a silicone throttle body coupler to replace the old hard crappy stock one that makes IC removal and fitting gay.
Old Vs new (was trimmed to fit)
Best thing about buying a car that has been loved mechanically its whole life is the picture below
143XXX kms and not a drop of blow by
While cam was chucking his track wheels and tires on we test fitted his wheels with a 3mm spacer as that is around the fitment ill be going when the times comes.
17X8 +42 (with 3mm spacer so +45 actual wheel) 235 45 17
I've decided ill go a 17" +42 max with a 235 50 for ride height and filling the guards (as it sat here with 235 45 17 it was under 100mm where as with my 215 55 17 it was 120ish mm)

Long time without an update for this car, had another service but until now nothing of interest.
Had a morning on the tools yesterday doing a few things with Cam at his place.
My front rotors were pretty warped after Christmas cruise/oldpac and then a run over walcha/oxley highway to home after Christmas (best road) so i managed to pick up some slotted and dimpled RDA rotors off one of the Subaru buy sell pages on Facebook which Cam picked up for me while i was away for Christmas/New Years. While we had the brakes apart I decided to finally paint my calipers front and rear that i have had paint for 5 months for it. Just went Black Gloss VHT with a coat of clear VHT.
While i worked on the brakes Cam went to the delicate job of taking my headlights apart to black out the interior around the reflective housing. These came up really well we painted them with this http://www.bunnings...._p1580677(bonds to plastic instead of using primer as well) and sealed the headlights again with this http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Permatex-Silicone-Adhesive-Sealant-Black-80mL.aspx?pid=129938#Recommendations . Cam just used a heat gun to soften the original sealant to get the lenses off and getnly pried them away with screwdrivers makig sure not to snap any clips. gloves are a good idea too to not get any finger prints where they shouldn't be.
With the headlights going black Cam and I figured the chrome around the fog light housing would look a bit funny so it went black too.
All in all was a productive day, once again thanks to Cam for the help, learn everything of this guy.
I also purchased a spoiler about 3 months ago which are often hard to come by for SF's with the screw covers and a fresh respray in 51E. It was in Brisbane so the seller kindly dropped it at my aunts who couriered it to me over Christmas when she came down. Just have to grow a set now and drill into my tailgate to fit it
The final thing i have to go on when it arrive is a STI Type M strutbrace that Cam came across in his importmonster travels, its currently on a boat, so will get plastidipped black ends when it arrives (to keep resale value of the pink bits down the track if need be) and fitted. it was the only strutbrace for SF that i have seen that looks like fitting with strut top covers.
Haven't had much luck with finding work since finishing uni for the year. Hoping to get some before uni goes back to fund a turboback fab of the bits i have at home, 3 port, fuel pump, clutch kit and then fit the TD04 catless up-pipe and get a tune. all depends on work though. Its still perfectly fine as it is but id love some power , all in good time.
Before tune stuff will be getting some paint love though ( bars and damage from a hit and run at uni during the year) and fitting my spoiler.
FINALLY PICS
All apart waiting for its bits and pieces to dry
Masked it up good
Where it all happens (hammer time on rear rotors pains of things)
Cam (open heart surgeon) twice in a day
All masked up ready for satin black
Dry my pretties
Painted and fitted brakes
All back together front end
Close up of one side lights and fog light surrounds
Whole front end
STI Type M brace on the way
Spoiler (punny ) all wrapped up waiting to be fitted one day
Thats it for now, still love driving it every time

Headlights and wheels look tops.
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

Looking good!
I had the same nervousness about fitting the spoiler on my SG. In the end i just took it down to the local body shop and he did it all for me.
He charged $160 to strip the old black paint, paint in red and fit it all up. Well worth it IMO.

Cheers guys getting there its never going to be a perfect car externally coming form a farming family originally then a young family before I bought it but its definitely much better than it was.
Nice work, bro!
Looking shmick.
How do the brakes feel?
Much better than warped ones
But yes they feel great under foot, haven't really tested them out properly yet
Looking good!

Thats not too bad mines already painted my colour which is nice so it would only be fitting. From what I have read SG tailgates under the trim have dots where to drill for a spoiler where as SF's are measure 400 times drill once. Theres a few write ups on it on ozfoz but non very detailed. im getting paint stuff done down the track so i might inquire then if i don't man up before hand.

Spent two arvos and Saturday this week doing some stuff i had acquired recently for the car with cam and mark, plus a service
Around christmas i purchased a STI SF5 Type M strut Brace off IM that cam ca across in his travels, which is also and option on JDM GC/GF as far as I've found. It turned up about a week ago it went on after some fine sanding metal polish and plastdipping the ends black so to keep it Genuine STI pink if i ever sold it. the reason i bought this as its the only brace i could find that i didnt have to cut the strut top covers to fit them.
PICS
I'd also picked up about a month ago a rear whiteline adjustable and quick release strut brace for 55% off on ebay, i was waiting till the front brace turned up to fit it so not to put the geometry out. only needed a slight trim of the covers to fit with the trims over the strut towers still
PICS
Yesterday, saturday was a service day UEC, Delvac and filter, bottom rad hose has been a bit sus so replaced that along with a coolant flush, also put in some rack bushes. also pulled of the ugly mangy cover on the underside of the bonnet looks much better
PICS
Cam found also found me GRB belt cover to replace the dated SF Belt cover, only needed a small tab off the GRB alternator bracket bent off with pliers and vice and a slight trim to clear the throttle cable, if doing yourself make sure the bolt clears the power steering belt, known thing when fitting a GD onwards belt cover to SFs
PICS
Finally we had to go to bunnings to get a bolt to mount the belt cover. While we were there we decided to get the bits to make up an IC sprayer out of garden irrigation fittings and hose. ended up costing about $5 max and have leftovers to do 3 more installs. just tee'd into the rear wiper pump off the washer bottle and disconnected the rear wiper motor. Video plus haters on facebook
PICS
Many thanks to cam again for his help, very knowledgeable and learn new things every time i do work with him
Finally Car goes to the panel shop tomorrow to have last years hit and run at uni damage repaired (front bar and front end trim repaired ans resprayed and passenger guard replaced), also having rear bar resprayed and my spoiler fitted, Pics next weekend for that.
Plan before HVC with some work coming up is tint and turboback and pending hrs for work possibly fuel pump and tune with the TD04 i have in the shed.
I've owned the car 1 year and 1 week have put 13,500km on it in that time and have enjoyed every minute of it, its come along way from and ex farm and ex family wagon to my car today, plenty more to come

Got the car back form paint a week ago came up awesome very happy with it no ugly mark on the front now to ruin pictures. Also had the spoiler fitted which changed the look immensely imo.
Apart ready for some loving
If your in Newy and need panel or paint work done Cam put me onto Greg at Stockton Central Smash Repairs (actually located in Gateshead now). Did an awesome job and was reasonably priced
Heres a few pics Cam took last weekend after a wash and wax.
and Potato by me
Last weekend i also did my best to touch up and marks or scratches with some touch up paint that i got off the painter
The spoiler had a brake light in it and its illegal to have 2 high mounted brake lights as well as looking silly. So I bought the trim off japanparts.com to replace the high mounted brake light in the rear window.
the brake light just plugged into the factory plug just had to repin 2 wires off the spoiler loom. also came with the screw caps which was nice so they were sikaflexed in because the spoiler is never coming off anyway.
LINK TO PART: https://www.japanpar...ts/detail/32424 (make sure to choose the correct colour trim in drop down box mine was light grey)
And also got a front 22mm cusco swaybar, HD links and Lat locks off Ben's wagon part out, fitted that up and the car handles pretty well now with all the handling mods i have done. only other things is a few tired bushes replaced then a steering rack of some sort.
For a boat anyway
size comparision
Fitted up (ignore filthy under body country car before me and i still live on a dirt road when I'm at home)
Waiting to see how much work I get in the next month or so before i decide on turbo back, tint or both depending.
