Parents don't know yet. Mum has seen the engine bay a few times and hasn't said anything.

Replaced the spark plug wires the other day

In other words they know but haven't said anything. Once your old man sees it I guarantee you'll either get asked straight out or get some raised eyebrows

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

If its anything like my parents they would have no clue.

My wife didn't even notice for two weeks when I swapped her wheels from silver to black!

Pretty much. If they find the engine they'll definitely know something is up haha

Opened the maf housing up today and found all the solder joints in perfect condition, so ruling that out. The maf code did go away at some point so going to double double check the wiring since one of the wires broke as it was a tiny bit too short

Ooh yeah!

Now, no parking at the train station again without an immobiliser right!

Cheers

Quick update.

  • Have rerun all the wiring for the boost bits using single lengths of wire. Previous had joins and shit and was no good.
  • Plumbed in the boost solenoid and finally got a 1.5mm restrictor pill.
  • Car is basically ready to go bar MAF sensor. Ty has had some issues putting his car back together so waiting for him to give the all clear on his new fuel line mods and stuff before he changes to the Z32. Aiming to have the car at the BBQ for mad spools

Cheers cubts

Also parents still dont know lel

Ok so last night we wired the Z32 into Tys car. Apart from getting a tiny bit of the shielding into the joint which was grounding out the MAF everything went well. Tys car still hauls ass with an entirely different AFM. Hats of to Apexi on that one.

This morning i put Tys orange maf into my car. She works an absolute treat now and my god boost is addictive. Havent gone WOT yet as its still the NA fuel pump so am taking it easy but its 100000000000000x better than 25D powah even at only 0.5-1 bar. Also considering its entirely stock apart from the intake pipe it makes amazing choo choo noises

So i believe some thanks are in order

  • Ty for answering all my stupid questions, for taking your car apart and giving me bits, for being the majority of the brains behind the operation
  • Michael, Ash, Callum, Joss, OMR, Chris, Steve for helping in the early days to get it all moving
  • Will for helping me trouble shoot the wiring/everything
  • Jordan from clublib/facebook for being my wiring diagram lel
  • Anyone who helped with my questions on facebook

Now its time to learn how to drive it and then to race Ty for purely scientific comparison of V4 vs V3 lel  B) im probably going to get chopped

Awesome. When are you giving the parentals notice of change to your ride?

Boost is great, I haven't had a lot of it but occasionally driving the RS always makes it more and more appealing!

Enjoy the ride, watch out for speed cameras!!

Cheers

A job nicely executed good sir. It all appeared to go down without too much hassle and I think it's one of the quickest time frame conversions I have seen documented.  Well done and to all involved!

Boooooooooooooost.

Cheers guys. I showed dad the turbo and so on today. Couldn't care less haha. Was a reasonablly quick and hassle free conversion except for the maf malarky but can't win them all. As for time frame Tys was quicker at 2 weeks but still pretty quick at 6 or so weeks.

Can't complain considering its still under 3k for everything :D

So the mexican Christmas bbq was today. Car worked like a dream. Never over heated, nothing broke and no leaks. Worst thing to happen was some smokey headers from some spilled fluids during the conversion. Great day and was nice to have some power on the twisties lel
