Yep it's an 8 bolt. It's the stocko off my 99 forester. It's TY755VB1AA.

One of us has a buggered box with good Centre and Good 5th but the rear housing and extension is fooked
Would only work if the box you have is 8Bolt though.. as the centre diff we have will only fit an 8 bolt style box's extension housing


Can I ask how the hell you stuff a centre diff housing but not the centre diff? Sounds like mission impossible to me!

Mates centre diff exploded and put metal through the casing, he had that centre diff rebuilt and we used the casing and rear from the 8 bolt box. Thus we have the good 8 bolt centre with a 4 bolt casing that has holes in it ;)

Oh and the 20H that's on loan into my car is running and has no DakDak.. Nice tight engine, and due to a broken vac line.. I can confirm it handled 22PSI last night :o

Well, this thread will get a revival soon. I'm picking it up next week. Not sure yet what bits are included, but it will end up a track car. Any details on the stat write-off? If not chassis, whats wrong?


MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Just a Little update on the Original idea btw..

Ben is taking the Gen2.. 
we have sourced a GC8

and the 20H makes 168KW atw in my car when it was dyno'd last ;) so that's what to expect in the gc8 when complete.

$500 damage on a $300 (value) car ?

EDIT: that would not be stat.. durr

Its not a stat right off afaik. Just sold cheap cos the blown HG and panel damage

ok so i just re-read this.. the confusion comes from when we were shipping Nick's Donor down from SYD..
That car was a stat write-off gen3 with v4 conversion...
the Racecar Gen2 was never a writeoff.. Rego expired and joss drove it 15 minute to my house but that was all.

anyway... Joss, get a photo of my panelbeating work! 

and i will get some pics of the GC8 up soon.. 

i'll be pulling the 20H out of my car soon.. i just need to throw a gearbox back in the GC8 and then i will throw the 20H into the GC8 just so i have somewhere to store it..

i have a feeling the crossmember might be bent though.. anyone got an RX or GC8 crossmember laying around?

 

 

ToDo:
Rear Diff
Gearbox install
Swap Control Arms (requires swapping Alloy arms into my car so i can use my arms on the GC8)
Swap Struts (need to pull them from the gen2 when Ben has time)

Engine Install

An Exhaust of some kind (who wants to weld something up from the half dozen things i have laying around)

Install Brakes (using my old 4pots)
