I've just replied mate, thanks for all the information!

I definitely like the idea of having my own Tactrix, however if there is anyone out there that has one that I can borrow every now and then (in exchange for a beer or something whenever there's a meet), that would be the best option for me at the moment. That would be great when the time comes Jay, thanks mate!

If I don't have my own Tactrix, is there no way of me getting that information simply by borrowing someone elses? Or do you mean as a means of obtaining that information on a daily/weekly/monthly basis?

Thanks guys, I felt the same. They're grey as well which goes with the colour scheme. :)

I bought the front pair for $200 and the rear pair for $170. Postage only set me back $25 to my door.

Matt's retunes are for the life of the car Garry.

I never bothered with a tactrix. When you meet up with Matt during the road tune he can do revisions as he drives. From memory he did at least 3 as we went.

I can't remember the exact figure but it was sub $500.

It's the best money you will spend on it.

So I've been told. That was probably the deal breaker for me, and the fact that it is on the $500 mark makes it even better. That's what I'm thinking. And even if I do need it, he could always send me the revisions and I just upload (I assume this is the correct terminology?) it whenever I manage to get a Tactrix off someone, right?

I'm definitely booking myself in for the next Sydney visit.

Thanks for clearing things up mate. No doubt it's gonna make the wagon so much better in all aspects; more power, increased fuel economy, improved throttle response, etc.

Well their website states they do not sell direct to the public. I just sent an email to them asking whether they would or not and the sales person that replied went along with it, no problems at all. I was surprised myself but have definitely benefited out of it. :)

A group buy for RDA brake discs? I could possibly get one set up, I'm just unsure whether this was a one off thing but I'd love to have an agreement with them to get some of these goodies at discount prices for buying in bulk for a car enthusiast club like ours. I'll give it some thought and might even ask the question to see where it'd get me.

Thanks Jase! Ha ha, I didn't know that. Or may be I did when I had a discussion going on what tyres people recommend; I was initially going with Kumho's remember? But then Mark sold me these bad boys with pretty much brand new shoes on it anyway. Everyone's happy and the Federal's have been absolutely perfect. No complaints whatsoever on my side. I'm sure you have the same opinion?

Compound is too hard and they seem a bit noisy, wet weather grip is average.

A swapped cars with a mate (09 WRX and competes in motorsport) and he commented on them too.

Maybe be it's just me being fussy as the RX has R spec tyres and sticks like hell, but there was a noticeable difference when the other rims went back on with the Bridgestone tyres.

If you are happy with them, then I'd call it a win.

Fair enough. They are all valid points of course but I didn't particularly choose to go with the Formoza FD2's, they just happened to be on the rims when I bought them off Mark. I've not really noticed anything negative about them as of yet. When you say they seem a bit noisy, what type of sound do they give out? I've been hearing a sound lately on my car and cannot make out whether it's the tyres or the new brake discs and pads I installed.

They hum a bit. Im in the same boat as you, they were on the car when I bought it.

I would like to replace them but its hard to justify replacing tyres that have plenty of life left in them. Im fairly sure that with the mileage I do and the treadwear rating, it will take years to wear them out.

Slotted rotors can be noisy under braking.

I'm not sure mine is humming, it might be something else then. Although the noise isn't evident when braking; could it have something to do with having too much brake fluid in the system? I'll check my tyre pressures this afternoon and see whether that improves it. What tyre pressures do you go by? The ones given on the placard in the door sill or do you go by what is given on the tyres themselves?

Exactly right. You may as well ride it out till they need replacing man.

Too much brake fluid wont cause a problem other than making a mess.

I run 40psi front and 36 rear on pretty much everything.

Sweet. I'll check the pressures then and go from there. Thanks Jase.
