Don't think I've got an A+ ever before.

You deserve it!

And Cam I'm changing your score to an A+ also as you have answered the first question and deserve extra credit for practical research.

Well done Kids!

How can we solve this problem???

Get a cheap (or the old) filter and cut the paper filter crap out, but leave the mesh for support.

2002 Outback - it's gone...

Excellent Idea!

That's exactly what I plan to do.

Extra credit point goes to you :D

This.

That's the plan. Credit to you too!

In the mean time I'm going to put the panel filter back in. Because, VGC and expensive.

Then get El cheapo & take to it with the stabby cutter.

Thanks Harry & Mitch.

Was fun putting it together too.

I figure that most youngsters will probably give the CAI Mod a go at some point. Hopefully this DIY helps or inspires in some way. Maybe even motivating them to do a bit of hands on research in other areas like ECM resetting, MAF cleaning, general maintenance & repairs..... or even just using Posted Image ing Google first before asking basic questions ;)

Would a POD fit inside the airbox?

Would a POD fit inside the airbox?

Not the one I used.

Mounting it in there would be a nightmare also. K&N or similar would most likely be more effective and less hassle any way.

But good thought none the less.

THIS. people could learn alot by just simply spending 10 minutes using google and clicking around. good chance someone would have already asked the question and done a write up on it

You clever bugger. I like how this is ghetto but nifty at the same time.

Oiled filters and MAF's are a bad time.

I've also worked out that this wouldn't cause your car to run lean at all because it wouldn't change the MAF scaling.

Cheers for the A+
