Well after a huge birthday weekend i had 10 mins to get something done on the car (much to the dismay of the missus lol) so i thought id put the diffback back on to save it from any scratches just kicking around the garage....and to see what it looked like of course ;)

Shitty pics...i do apologize but its dark lol

Ill grab some better ones in the daylight so you can get an idea of what it really looks like without the flash making it look crap

also got in and polished up the heavily scratched subaru badge for the grille...came out like new :) no pics yet though...its only a badge anyways lol

And also received my rear coilovers damper adjuster extenders which will be installed on Thursday or Friday when i have the days off

PS....whilst im still yet to see what it looks like in the sun...i really like it :)

So the time has come when ive decided to bite the bullet and replace the outer cv boot that has a slight tear in the rear.

Its only 5mm and has only spat a bit of grease, but i don't want it to get any worse and now is a good a time as any to fix it properly

So rather then half arse it and just do the one boot, im gonna do all 4 on the rear as the outer on the other side looks shit aswell

And because i have to take the inners off to get to it ill be replacing them aswell

Not fun lol

But scored trade on all the parts needed and got the subaru cv grease for free ;) cheering!

Been researching exactly what to do and it looks fairly straight forward...albeit very dirty!

Hopefully be the weekend they're all replaced and back in the car..may even give the shafts a quick lick of black paint while theyre out of the car

It is a dirty job replacing CV boots. I just disassemble the inner joint and slide the outer boot down the shaft.

We used to have a special tool for that job, it's called an 'Apprentice'.

I've got a set of OE front outers on the way for the RB, as I'd like to replace the slightly torn one before I fit the painted calipers.

I've done it. It's not that bad! Basically just a couple of circlips and a lot of grease!
