So steering rack is in....piss easy job with the turbo and uppipe removed and the dump pulled right back ;) jusy hope the rack and pump are in good nick

Woulda been in heaps quicker but I was cleaning as I went...anti seizing everything...and also had to screw around with a metal cover under the flywheel that was loose and rattly....the bolts are in the worst position ever?!!

The threaded section on this rack is about an inch shorter than the rs and I thought it may bottom out...but its good with about 5mm to spare thanks to a skinny lock nut ;).....it was a bit pigeon toed at first but I think its straightish now lol

Started mocking up the reservior mount...but ill wait until I get my fmic pipes and airbox before I confirm anything

Soooooooooooo...

Its been a while lol

The car has sorta been on the back burner over xmas and all the money sucking stuff that happens over that period

It just got 5 mins here and there, and is still nowhere near complete

But an update for you fine peeps..

Motor is back up and running as of this weekend, was a bit spluttery and smoky due to what I believe is now slightly off fuel and sitting for well over 6 months. Will pump it all out over the next few days and put fresh stuff back in

After a new fuel filter, new O2 sensor, fuel additive and some sta-bil, bit of idling (well a lot of idling), some UEC, new oil, fixing some vac leaks and a giving it some revs she now seems a lot better!!! it was popping around 2.5k and very hesitant to rev which was a worry.

I will put some pics up soon of the current set-up, but lots needs to go to the coaters and it badly needs a solid detail which will happen in the coming weeks when all the sound deadening comes out and I am in my new garage

As said there's still a lot to do, but the interiors back together with a nice V2 STi nardi wheel, my old bride and STi seat from the gen3 (nice and low ;)), grey carpet from a series 1 and not much else atm??

The engine has a brand new rotated VF34 (couldn't resist the price!!), new billsy spec FMIC pipes, throttle body coolant bypass, alloy header tank, gen2 air box fitted with a nice bell mouth I found, 2.7 rack and Foz PS pump and reservoir, 02+ STi COP's, reconfigured boost solenoid setup, loom tidied up a bit, all twitched wiring soldered sealed properly, no A/C, no cruise, charcoal canister moved, hyper flow 4 port catch can where the AC once lived

Still to do are things like the killer-b sump, new exhaust system, bit of tidy up welding, recut a unmolested front reo as mine had been cut with a gas axe???!, install new fuel pump, remove redundant wiring from all over the car, re-bush the gearbox x-member, new shift bushes, install GD STi rear sub-frame, remove more weight, powder coat the FMIC pipes, brackets, intake pipe, strut brace, header tank, maybe alternator, possibly spare intake manifold I have, install and paint the new rear bar and front guards, paint the door handles, put new inner guards in the front, paint the callipers black, get new pads and discs etc. etc. etc.

And I'm sure there's more lol.....but atm she will get an alignment, get a detail and be driven to work whilst I install my dual battery and electrical bits into my new toy the Pajero

I must say that even though its physically dirty atm as its due for a wash, and still needs the vac lines tidied up and loomed, things coated etc... when comparing how it was when I first got it to how it is now, it is already a million times better :)

For now its ready to be driven to our new house with a nice big double garage all to myself to start on all the next phase of mods and general tidy up....let the games begin!!!

Oh an Mark finally agreed to sell me the rear window spoiler....so I'm pretty keen to get a hold of that as well :D

Pics to come of engine bay and interior.......sorry in advance for how filthy it all is lol

Nearly all silver will be powdercoated black...still want to redo the vac lines a bit tidier and it needs a good solid detail..but considering how it looked at first im so happy

Will get new coolant hoses and a new ps cooler in a few weeks...just running the systems to flush them all before I put fresh oil, ps fluid and coolant into it again

Will put up some outside pics once its washed, will still look crappy until new paint, and some interior shots once its not so full of spare parts lol

Black stuff turned out awesome...but when I put it in it was incredibly black and stood out too much

So I got another free series 1 legacy rs grey carpet...cleaned it and installrd it and am much happier

But yep the dye worked a treat...just wasnt what I wanted in the end

The engine bay used to look like a cluster fork of headaches.

Mate you have no idea...boost solenoid just sitting up behind the strut tower not attached rattling its head off under boost....soft silicone pipes everywhere....soft silicone on the brake booster line which sucked in under braking and gave little to no brakes, the bosch coils leads going everywhere....dodgy catch can pipework venting to atmosphere in plain view...way too oversized cooler piping...a maze of hid wiring I promptly removed..power steering fluid everywhere on the block and all down the manifold etc..big vented bov that was insanely loud and a power lead just jammed in from the old rear battery install it had

And a lot of other things that I was not happy about

Hell im still not happy with the engine bay...but its manageable now lol....the battery and washer bottle will be moved to the boot soon enough which will free it up a bit more and also will remove all the old boost control wiring and the air con compressor wiring etc etc

Dont get me wrong it looked awesome Adam...just with my door trims and stuff it seemed a bit too much
