Small update. Went and saw the repair shop today. They just got the locks today as the ignition barrel had to be overnight parts from japan'd. The owner/manager/guy in charge said he'd try to get it done by friday if not then then Monday. He was also happy to accept my alignment settings and will reset it back if its changed.

Other than that the conversion is still planned for the 24th. Just waiting for bits and pieces to come in and money etc. Heres where things get weird. Went to Tys on sunday to do car stuff and wanted to start the wagon to get the fluids moving/keep the battery semi charged, wouldnt start. It had been on the fuel light for a while and runs rich as fork so went and put 10L of fuel in it. No change. Pulled a plug which was BLECK and tested the spark on the chassis. Had spark but wasnt great. Fuel lines were hard and fuel was spraying out the exhaust lel so it had everything it needed. Still wouldn't start. It started fine on friday though ¯\(°_o)/¯

We're putting it down to the heat throwing off the "tune" and the plugs being forked. We know it runs fine so not worried, will just make it a pain to get it onto a trailer. Luckily my brothers have winches on their fancy 4WD so shouldnt be too bad

Conversion update:
 

Picked up a timing belt kit today from around the corner. Bosch timing belt and koyo idlers for 188 smackers. Mad. Ty and I did some thinking and weve decided we're not going to bother trying to get it running till its in my car lol. So that means we can start pulling bits off it whenever really! So the conversion start date has moved forward a week!!! Either the 17/18 Ill be pulling the driveline at Tys place and putting it into the back of the wagon then rolling the car down onto the nature strip ready to be picked up the following weekend for the good stuff to begin. So keen.

Also im hoping ill be picking up my RX tomorrow otherwise itll be on Monday :D

No car pickup today but for a good reason. They rang me this morning offering to get the car fully detailed which i accepted. So early next week :D

  • up pipe top and bottom
  • dump pipe
  • Coolant cross over
  • Water pump and gasket
  • Thermostat and gasket
  • Tensioner
  • Rear main seal
  • Oil cooler seal
  • Oil cooler pipe (Tys suggestion)
  • Bottom radiator hose (Bought a new top when I did the head gaskets)

Today i picked up the most important part of the conversion.... I FINALLY HAVE MY CAR BACK. Id forgotten what a good feeling car it was. Got used to spongy brakes and boat suspension. So nice to have stopping power and some proper suspension. 99% of the bits and bobs are still in the car and all the rubbish gone lel. Also have gained a spare steel wheel and tyre and a trolley jack ¯\(°_o)/¯. Also found a drivers license for some random 70 year old wog bloke so might turn that over to the cops  :scratch_one-s_head:

Also picked up some HPR10 and some Nulon 75W-90 for the new donk and gearbag respectively

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans
