Did it when cold or hot?

Just curious as I reckon I'll do the same!

Cheers

Hey mate, great work. There is such a difference between an enthusiast who throws money to a tuning garage and an enthusiast who puts the time and effort in, in his own driveway. Major kudos.

I can relate to the pre-start feeling when you're mentalling ticking off (again) that the oil is in, the AFM is connected, belts are clear, etc. Very cool. Thanks for the vid

Have you run a degreaser over the ground to get as much of the oil/coolant off as you can?

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

So where's the wagon disappearing to? Ty coming to the rescue there??

Still can't believe how quickly you've got this all sorted! It took me three weeks for my EJ conversion including factory central locking, electric windows and mirrors etc! And that was with 6 months prep work in buying parts, building the gearbox and doing the usual prep work on the engine. I even bench (floor!) tested the engine first as I couldn't afford to be doing the HGs. All checked out!

Wrapped for you, and a little jealous!

Cheers

What is the procedure now? Do you need to have it checked by an engineer or VicRoads to update rego? Do you call your insurer to update details etc? Seems odd that you can just swap an engine over in your driveway and have no rigmarole to go through. I'm aware swapping in an engine that was offered for that model by the manufacturer is an approved mod, but considering this engine is from a different model Liberty does it not need VASS certification? It would need VASS certification under the 20% increased power rule as well, no?

Yes to inspection for vicroads, yes to insurance. Engine has to be an AUDM option to sail through so will need to be inspected. From what i can gather its basically is the engine in there safely and are the brakes and suspension up to the task.

From what I remember when I was going through this, is you need the brakes from the model the engine came from or better, and the suspension just needs to be in good nic, with added bits here and there if required. Sway bars, struts and the like need to be upgraded to allow for the extra power, but on the whole, if the factory suspension is good, there's not much they will pick. Emissions is the other big one. If the new engine had a pre cat in the up pipe as factory in the model you got the engine from, you need it, and however many mufflers the engine had pre removal needs to be in place once you put it in the new car. So if the engine from the original car had 3 mufflers, your car now has to have three mufflers. That's how I had it explained to me. Main rule is to make sure it has the right number of cat converters. That's for the factory change thing. Inspection and mod plate you can do things differently, but it'll then need engineering approval.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
