Write-off sounds like the best outcome by far. If they've thrashed it so hard they've done all that damage, it's epic :fork:'d

I can't imagine it had enough power to break a drive shaft the traditional way, so what on earth did they do to it?! BMX-style gutter hops?

Id say they were doing launches. Toasted the clutch or bent the fork. I cant remember if the shaft is snapped or the cv broke on the diff side

Hoping for a write off so i can fix it myself. Will start by replacing the shaft and if that doesnt work will take the box out and fix what needs fixing

Wont need to swap anything. No WOVR cos its older than 15 years. Stays registered and no mention of it ever being written off. That said if someone has a tidy RX wagon going begging thats not green ill take it lol

Green is good when its been looked after. 99.9% of the ones for sale look like theyve been dug up.

My next subaru will be a wagon ill admit

Keep your dirty mitts off the non-green rx wagons m9

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

Please excuse my ignorance - but what's the difference that makes the RX more desirable? Suspension and interior trim??

Yep ease of conversion, digital climate control and the factory body kit.

The bilstein editions are the most desirable. They got the billies obviously and leather interior etc
