Here in vic if you get your P's in an auto you have to do your reds in an auto. I believe once you go green it becomes either. Once youve got your P's here theres no more testing though
Nah it's Auto for the duration if you got an Auto license unless you redo your practical test then manual once you're on open.

So in an effort to find out why my car only runs 14 psi and rich as dicks ive attempted to reseal the temp sensor that was put into the intercool for the haltech. Didnt change anything. Borrowed the intercooler that will go on the racecar last night and put it in this morning.
The intercooler has a pipe about 1/2 the size of the normal factory bov but came with a piece of hose with a cork wrapped in tape to plug it up
Dodgy as but works lol. To prevent a vac leak i had to remove the BOV vacuum source and plug it. Old bolt with a hose clamp ftw buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut the nipple on the bov snapped off :\
And to cap it all off it wasnt the source of the problem. Bigger intercooler is never a bad thing i spose and the flutter is pretty cool for the time being. Probably going to get it professionally boost leak tested and save me forking around and probably blowing out my cam seals

I thought you'd just cut to the chase and have it done already!
Just throwing this out there - Afm and O2 reading correctly? Or is it down to the tune on the ECU not being a very good one/oversized injectors for the ECU's setup??
Cheers

How long before you end up with a front mount intercooler??

No FMIC for me. CBF chopping and so on. O2 sensor is 10 months old and AFM was spot on when i got it. Doubt its died since then as the car runs really well albeit rich and down on boost. After some brainstorming I(and Ty) think the exhaust is choking the turbo up. I'm fairly confident the tune is based off RPM and throttle position(essentially), so boost doesn't come into the fueling and if it did the ECU gets the boost reading from the manifold where im reading 14 psi so would be fueling for 14 psi.
So the ECU is saying youre at full throttle here's all the fuel but the turbo cant spin fast enough to make boost as the exhaust is too restrictive. Also when i did the conversion i replaced and clamped all the lines that would leak boost.
Injectors and tune are 100% stock STi so no mismatches there either.

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

So whats the damage? going to make hvc?
Still havent seen the car. Insurance is doing its thing. On the phone to them right now about it. Police said there was no obvious damage to the body. Box and engine are another story
Still planning on making it to HVC

TL, CBF reading back through this thread to see if you've altered the OEM ECU, but Subaru turbo's are MAF, not MAP based.
A choked exhaust will definitely throw out the (open-loop target) boost, but what is stock target? Probably not far from 14psi. Pick a smaller pill size if you want to up it.

Still oem ECU. Target should be 16 from what ive read, WRX is 13.5 - 14 so the source i found originally might have been WRX not STI. I finally found a jdm part diagram and found it has a smaller pill, 1.2 vs 1.5. Also ordered all the right joiners and reducer things which may or may not help. Of course all this arrived the day of the car being stolen along with a replacement metal bov
Exhaust will hopefully be on before HVC but who knows. Dumping all my money into the trip itself and a good alarm

Ooops
In my defence it was only $150 from a pick a part. Gen 1 arrived this morning with some kind of WRX/STi engine, v3/4 box and this baby. When I arrived some of the RSLC guys already had the engine out but didnt want the turbo. Absolutely 0 play and no oil farts in the rear housing. Even if its dead I can still put the P20 housing on my 24 and get the same turbo.

I accidently turbo?
Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.
