Just look on tire rack, they aint much cheaper then the 18's if i remeber. Pretty sure they arent sold by australian bridgestone dealers.

Yeah i know they still aint in australia...and the ku36's have come up in price :( .....so itll only be $200 more for RE11's :)

but i gotta save for Japan so i dunno if i can yet lol

Theres quite a few things that take my fancy on this beast Matt - To list a few:
Coilovers - I'll be looking at either a set of Bilstiens or Teins, depending on what the finance situation dictates (note: minister for)
Front and rear sway bars (I have a genuine 401 front, and will probably get a cusco or whiteline 22mm adjustable rear)
The mud spats look sweet. I have been eyeing a set of those off for a while now, and your car does not make me want them any less.
The front lip I like, but because of the 401 front bar I have, it will sit low enough to be torn off without careful parking/extremely slow reversing out of my driveway (less than 5 kmh might protect it if you take it at a 45 deg angle...)
Mesh front grille - Again, been eyeing one of these off for a while...
The fan belt cover looks great too, not sure how I missed out on that... but I'll look for one.
Grimmspeed AOS is another item on the shopping list
Where did you get the bonnet dampers from?
2.7 Quick rack would be nice, but probably a long while down the track, and even then only if the current rack craps itself.
Once I finally get a front mount, a JDM front crash bar will definitely be the goods. So much smaller.

Also, the power steering cooler - is it mounted directly to the rad support, or is there an isolating rubber between it? Always been curious about that, I know vibration can kill radiators real quick, so I always thought the same would be true of other things - IC's, trans coolers, etc. I know the STi TMIC has isolating rubbers.

Will be a long way down the track before I give the old girl that list though. But its great to see someone else having done what I want to. Gives my plan 'focus' if you will.

Once again, great work on such a beautiful toy.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

Billies would be nice, but the teins had more adjustments as they dont make pss9's for the gen3 (ie teins have an adjustable lower bracket)

Swaybar wise...if i did it again id go cusco..ive actually been looking into the change one day, just gotta talk to my japanese importer mate ;)

Mud spats...do et!! But id colour code them in your case due to the lack of front lip? And get the ABC revision ones, as the chunky DE ones look horrible

Front lip i wouldnt do with your s401 bar....i love those bars!! I would love to import one from K2 :D

Mesh grille was just pure luck to find lol

Fan belt cover you can get off kris at rising sun...mines off a USDM ej25

GS AOS is awesome, highly recommend it

Bonnet dampers are prova eifel ones that were gold...generic ones can be sourced though

Quickrack was the best mod handling wise, i thought B4's had a pretty tight rack already?

JDM crash bar is super handy! (shhhh its stock ;))

Power steering cooler is bolted to the support...never thought about rubbers? But i might make some up at work now youve mentioned it?

Glad i could be a guinea pig for a few mods you want mate....lord knows my wish list is still pretty long lol

Haha, well that solves that dillema. Teins it is. Thanks for that!

Why make the change from whiteline?

I never knew there was a difference between them! I shall remember that, and yep, probably going to colour code, with a pretty large amount of protectant on them, make getting mud/crap off them without ruining the paint.

Love it too, but expensive. Dunno if I would do it again, hard to justify almost 1k on a front bumper...

Cheers, will have a chat to him at some stage. I was looking at how to somehow mount the stock TT one to the v8, but the mounts are completely different.

Not sure, I didnt notice that much difference between the B4 and the 00 RX I had, but maybe I'm wrong there. Anyone else care to shed some light?

Hmmm, might have to give Al and Miles a call, see what they think. I remember seeing one of their customers cars with an oil cooler welded to the strut tower in place of the TMIC, so maybe it'll be right... More info required.

Hehe, know that feeling well! Lists make it easier though, tick them off as you finish it off!

Sooo just run the re-11s on the Cr's?

Why buy more tyres when youve already got a new set?

I was talking about re-treading the STi rims as theyre worn out now...as said i cant really justify it atm, but its always handy having two sets :)

Ive just heard great things about cusco swaybars is all

Yep big difference between the two revisions

But its awesome! So worth $1000 lol

My rx was shocking compared to the new quickrack, its like night and day!

Well Al installed the cooler for me? So it should be ok, it is pretty well supported? I cant see it failing anytime soon, but im gonna look into rubber spacers for it ;)

In other news, went for a rego check today and heman himself jumped on my wheels and found my new steering rack has a worn rack end ball joint on the drivers side :( ...so he didnt pass me obviously lol, and didnt get the hint i was wanting him to repair it?

So i said "get stuffed you dont deserve my money" and went to an old mate whos a steering specialist, he looked at it and said they were right...so im booked in for tuesday...and got the parts today from subaru for cost ;) (gonna do both sides for piece of mind, and replace the boots while its apart ;))

New bits ;) and a 2.5 inch hump silicone joiner so i can get a bit of give on the cold side pipe
Posted Image

Still searching for a 34mm black silicone pipe for the BOV, rang turbosmart today and said theyre stoopid for selling a 34mm "universal" barb, but no hose to suit it!

So i think other than a cheap ebay bit, if its shit im gonna chase an 89-94 hilux silicone radiator hose as theyre 34mm ;) or just use a normal radiator hose if i have to for a while?

10/10 such an awesome build. Just wondering how much the conversion set you back as im pondering the idea of dropping a V7 Sti driveline into my B4. Either that or buying a Bugeye STi but i dont want to deal with the hassel of selling my B4. PM me if you want.

Very, Very nice build mate.
The attention to detail is excellent.

Although im a DIY nut, i do understand the taking it to someone philosophy, and in all honesty, if i had the coin to do it, i would, rather then constantly having grease under my fingernails.

It sounds like the alleged intercooler issue was an air leak, i have seen the "cheap" ebay cores flow excellent amounts of air, and have great results on literally hundreds of cars.

I look forward to seeing this is the flesh one day.

Cheers mate, its come a long way

The cooler and pipng has no leaks and was checked over by Michael South who is one of thr most trustworthy guys in the game

It just struggles to flow properly above 23psi, its a cheaper core and a plazmaman tube and fin will be installed soon, its still powerful as with the current core and shits all over the tmic with consistent inlet temps of a few degrees above or below ambient
