There you go. I noticed the side photo, the tailights look AUDM. Not dark enough to be the legacy garnish.
Even if it is a conversion I don't see why the guy wouldn't just say that it is. It was a cheap buy, if it was a JDM legacy they could have asked a bit more than what it was sold for... Strange anyway

Shouldn't it be an B4 RSK it was from japan and have a L7 grill, not a audm B4 one?

Obviously vin and yellow import plate can confirm the origin but I'm with Ben, from just looking at it in the pics, something seems a bit odd

It looks alot like a AUDM version cause of the rear garnish which is just a reg Subaru one and not Legacy and the grill is Aus aswell?

And I shall check for import plate tomorrow when I go see the car again :)

Red B4 is red?

Interested to so what the go is here.

There is so much info on here & you best read up http://www.subyclub....27#entry52427if if you haven't already.

Thanks for the info mate I shall have a read :)

to be sure you can match the vin using details in the link above. at a quick glance it should also a yellow import plate near the vin plate that looks like this:

Posted Image

you could also check other things that most people don't do when they do conversions such as does it have a rear windscreen wiper or not (JDM models all had the rear wiper, AUDM don't).

It does not have a rear wiper from memory and I shall check for an import plate tomorrow :)

HMMMMMM. From that side picture, it looks as if it doesn't have a rear wiper. Difficult to tell.

Welcome to the red family, anyway :)

Thanks mate and it does not have one I'm pretty sure? :P

Mmmm. very interested. Lots of things missing if its JDM...

Whats the writing on the garnish say? If its not the smoke garnish, and says SUBARU, its an ADM garnish. If it says LEGACY, its JDM.

It has an Aus rear garnish but JDM seats aka leather and cloth and also balck dash surround not silver!

In addition...
Blue/Black Leather or Black/grey leather + cloth?
Heated power folding mirrors?
HIDs or Halogen headlights?
Adjustable headlight level?

Cloth and leather JDM seats = yes
Black gloss dash surround = yes
Japanese Stereo = yes
Color coded belt cover=yes

Not sure about mirrors?
Not sure about HID's?
Not sure about headlight level?

looks like a heritage to me. i don't recall an RX that came in red

You are correct about the rear garnish and the car is completely untouched, 100% standard and I shall try and work out what I have bought lol

It might be worth noting that the S401 did not have the LEGACY rear garnish, those ones said SUBARU. Cant remember whether they were tinted or not though, I think they were. Dont have the hand book for them in front of me, its sitting at home.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

True, but if it originated in japan, the original owner may have gone for some different parts. Hence the different bits like wheels, colour, garnish etc.

This is also true, tomorrow night I shall have all your answers I hope! Going to check out my baby tomorrow at lunch time :)

It happens to the best of us Jack!

Lol

Sorry for the delay guys I was under the weather last night  put I have the pics for you guys!

Also its the IHI VF33 turbo that needs replacing and if you know any for sale please let me know :) Thanks

PS. I have confirmed that red is the original color via the paint code on the vin, so it must be a color they released on in Japan or it was a once off dealer version or something of the like! :D

I say do the single conversion while you have the perfect opportunity now. You still have the heritage and can drive that around. Plus it will be much more fun! Like epic power.
