That's it. Do the best with what you got. Not sure about the rusty stuff unfortunately.

You are correct good Sir and I need to be content :)

Sand it back if cleaner doesn't work, put some anti rust on there and repaint

Thanks Jack I shall give it a shot tonight!

Aluminium shouldn't rust......

Got a pic?

I shall take some pics and post tonight!

PS. The car had been sitting for two years so its no surprise that they need a good scrub! :P

You should do a before and after photo set.
Like paintwork wheels, undercarriage, engine bay, interior. Then when you have the car restored in how ever many months it takes take all the same photos of the same spots then post it up

Hahaha awesome pic but I have these wheels cause the Enkei's have gone to the B4 and I have the B4 wheels and suspension and brakes on my car now!

Mark is correct, that I am and when I went to pick up my new battery for the silver lib I saw that they had chipped the paint off the calipers!!!!!!!!

So I will need to get them re done, and after the B4 is road worthy I shall be doing everything myself/ learning how to do it and taking it to my local Subaru place to get it serviced cause how hard is it to take some care when changing the brakes and wheels over.... not happy Jan!

Anywho

This is the mess I have to clean up on the B4 wheels, any ideas other than what has already been posted? Thanks guys :)

Once you have them clean, may I suggest a bit of paint? Nothing serious, just rattle cans will do. Scratching it up and cleaning off the rust would in my opinion clean it up short term, but allow a larger area to them be susceptible to further rust problems further down the track.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but thats my logic. Plus the paint will hide the two different surfaces (as I believe the silver front of the mag is paint).

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Yeah get a little detail sander, prime with that rust kill stuff and paint what ever colour you want. That's how I'd do it anyway

That really sucks man... So unlucky. I've had a car sitting around for about one and a half years and the rims never had a problem with cracking, rust or getting any damage whatsoever.

I'm the mayor of unlucky town! and I found another crack on the same wheel so I shall clean up and sell 3 of them and buy a new set of wheels :D

Also the brakes, wheels and suspension is on the car and so is the replacement turbo and now for the road worthy parts this week!

Damn man. Hopefully after all this you won't have as bad of a hassle as you've experienced lately.

I hope so but I now need a new exhaust cause oil has caked and killed the CAT and coated the whole exhaust will oil!

Hi Guys :)

Today I have some shots of how the car it looking at the moment... the replacement turbo has been fitted as so has the brakes, suspension and wheels.

There is however one slight problem and that being that there is still oil leaking into the exhaust from somewhere which is getting looked into on Monday and also I need a new exhaust!

Anyone know of any good places of even online places to get a set of headers for a ej20tt?

As you can see the IHI VF25 turbo had destroyed itself :P
