So the RS has been in pieces in its ongoing quest to be a super fun happy car

Whilst it is still regustered I wanna keep most of the trim in the car so it doesnt stand out to the popo so much

Removed all the insulation from the carpet, scraped it all of witha razor...surprisingly like 3 to 4kg worth?!!!
Removed all the sound deadening and as much of the firewall mat that I could...more will come out when the dash comes out
No more central locking
No more door lamps
Removed heaps of un needed brackets etc
Order placed for a lithium 1.4kg battery
Manual window winder conversion and all wiring for power windows deleted
Only wires to the doors are 3 each for the mirrors
Removed all the surprisingly heavy bungs from the floor..about 12 of them and taped up the holes
All surfaces cleaned to remove all sound deadening residue
Crappy tint removed off all windows
All door switches removed and plugged up...all wiring for them to be removed
Boot lamp wiring and all speakers and wiring to be removed
Stereo removed
All grab handles removed
Jdm style rear bumper reo

I got over weighing all the stuff and figured ill just get the car weighed later....though I have lost a fair bit off the old girl...cant wait to drive her!!

Also grabbed some dba4000 rotors and intima sr pads to replace the worn units....just chasing some project mu handbrake shoes to replace whilst im down there for some fun handbrake pulls on the skidpan

UPDATE TIME

So the car has been sitting idle atm fixing and replacing bits and pieces

But a few weeks back I was talking to Cam about how i want to eventually run a GD engine and ECU in the RS when one comes up for the right price......and it just so happened he knew of an engine that fit the bill

IMG_4457.jpg
IMG_3106.jpg

Enter Cams old wrx, or whats left of it after attacking it with a grinder lol

This engine spun a bearing and was freshly rebuilt with a 207 short block, refreshed heads, bc 272 cams, all new pumps, belts and gaskets and a set of the ever elusive killer b 321 stainless equal length headers

Engine only had approx 10k put on it in a run I tune before the car was written off...so shes a fresh engins that never had to do much at all :)

The cut came with all the loom, ecu and engine ofcourse...minus the gbox and turbo etc as I have no need for them with my new 6 speed and a 15km old vf34 still on the RS

So I paid a deposit and waited for a day when we both were free, and thankfully Mark (scubaroo) was free to lend his trailer, crane and general help as I would not have done it without him....big props Mark!!!

Anyway we had a lot of fun getting it on the trailer and off the trailer and into the garage, was a struggle but we conquered it in the end....what a mission though!!!!!

So yep here it sita in my garage...gotta prop it up on jackstands soon, but ive just been stripping unwanted crap lile air con and cruise etc and vacuuming all the shattwred glass off the cut to stop me cutting me up so much....and pulled the silicone intake as it was a soft ebay one and I have a new avo intake ready for install

20140628_171620.jpg
20140628_171627.jpg

So once I pull the motor ill be sending the headers off for coating with my dump, installing my killer b sump and putting it all together on an engine stand ready for install into the RS

Gotta get the looms spliced and the jim berry clutch rebuilt in the coming weeks aswell...but ive got some time to waste so im not rushing

Also got my kartboy/tic order the other day and fitted up the tic fender cowl braces whilst the front guards are off...tidy gear I must say!

20140627_165707.jpg
20140627_165641.jpg

And also played around making up some clear indicators with diffuser, except I painted up the inner plastic black so that it doesnt stand out too much. ..which will go with the murdered out theme im going for atm....more on that later though ;)

20140614_100023.jpg
20140614_100309.jpg
20140614_095829.jpg

So ill just keep chipping away with all the plans I have for her and update in good time....but with the 207 and a 6 speed In the garage im pretty damn excited of the coming months :D

Peace out!

Good work mate.

That engine is a PEACH! It'll knock your socks off once in and tuned, The sound is to die for. A little bit like a bridgeport rotary at idle and full rally car in the top of the rev range.

01+ ECU's are amazing things. Good choice.

If you need a hand in the near future, Give me a bell.

Yeeeeeew!

Awesome.

As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;

"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I should just convert to single, right?

Nice update.

Although they'll work, the construction of those Kartboy braces looks basic and pretty rough for a brand name item.

Yeah they could be more braced I suppose...but its pretty solid 6061 alloy and I compared them by putting them in a vice and flexing them and they crap all over the standard ones....and are no heavier

Do those fender braces create a lot of NVH?

Can vouch for this noise heard it scream personally in its old body  :D

Looks like this thing will be a beast probably make what your gen 3 power wise, but in a lighter body  :yahoo:
