Decided to try put it in the opposite of how ive taken the 5 speeds out, through the engine bay with a engine crane, a jack and some ratchet straps used strategically
Was soooo damn easy! At one point it hit on the sub frame and on the firewall and I was like....oh fork!...but lowering the jack a bit and putting more angle on the box it just slipped right in. Not once did I have to manhandle anything as the crane and jack did it all
Nearly forgot to put the rear shifter bushing in aswell lol...but all fixed now

So the (huge) 6 speed is now bolted in and ready to knock the old front axles out and put the new ones in tomorrow
Gave myself the mission to strip the dash and loom out this week and get it sent to amauto for splicing before xmas as I had a big chat with Al yesterday and he was happy to fit it in
So happy to see this much progress finally happening to the rs as for a while there things were way too quiet thanks to work etc etc
So its time for a bit of boozing and sitting in front of the tv now
Till 2moro!!
