So is this all happening before HVC?

What's happening with your rear garnish, looks good in the satin black, apart from the badges.

Aaaaand how the hell do you find all this time to work on your Subi?? I'm lucky to even look at mine atm! At least one of us is blitzing along with the progress of their vehicle!

Love your dedication to the RS!

Would love to be at HVC but it's not going to happen for me... At least for this year.

Cheers

Swapped the drivers side front hub over...got a refurbed hub and some gd wrx shafts ready for the gd sti arms i will install soon ;)

Asked for some gd wrx hubs aswell as theyre a lot more reinforced compared to the puny rs hubs ;)

Took the passenger side hub and shaft out just now and i can happily say this hub is what was causing the noise!!

Atleast 4mm slop side to side...and about 3mm in/out! How i didnt notice this is beyond me lol

So once its all back together im off to grab 60l of e85 in prep for the tune on monday ;)

Also scored a gd sti front swaybar and endlinks to go along with my new gd sti alloy front arms

The extra width should make the car that bit more planted! Pretty excited lol

Cheers Gaz! Yep i like it too...just needs the brembos blacked out some day soon ;)

Also yesterday i picked up some new proquip jerry cans and 70L of united E85 race blend for a great price from a fellow...now former...subaru enthusiast who no longer had any use for it

He had a mint as black peanut sti that he watched burn to the ground two days ago :( was the day of his tune at msr with a heap of awesome mods

Just hearing this blokes story made me feel physically sick..he had no fire extinguisher and the firies took 30mins to arrive....so all he could do is watch his pride and joy burn

This is a stark reminder that everyone...not just people wanting to track a car should have a fire extinguisher in the car at all times! Ive always carried one in both the subys...and have two in the fourby, but will probably put another in the RS now!!

Few things ticked off the before tune and before hvc to do list

-VP commodore IAT sensor wiring completed, ready to splice in at the AFM when i get to MSR
-All engine bay wiring secured and tidied up
-2 x 12 led panel lights in the dome light
-left over 12 led panel in the boot
-AFM cleaned with contact cleaner
-IACV cleaned out...was filthy!!
-UEC done (3rd time on engine so far...clean as now lol)
-Oil changed with fresh delvac...old stuff only did about 300km...but i was using it like a flush since the engine had been off the road so long
-new vanillarama smelly tree installed, copied Cam and am collecting the old ones in the boot on the strut bar :D
-Grandpa spec grey dash mat installed ;) gotta protect that dash lol

only got a few things to check over and a quarter of a tank to chew through before i get to michaels for some fresh E85 to go in

Someone make me a fire extinguisher bracket pls

I grabbed a Kap industries on yonks back and am super happy with it...though if you have some ally you could make and paint one easy as pie

I got another to chuck in the boot very soon

One last thing for the day

After years of using a scangauge in my Pajero (which is a smaller version of an ecudatascan pretty much) to read things like intake temps, water temp, boost, tranny temp, volts, speed etc and to read and clear codes...i have been very impressed with it and how it seamlessly hides above my rear view mirror with the use of a mount made by blend mount in the US

So i opted to grab one for the suby aswell as the paj is pretty well hardwired in and is a hassle to remove

Although i couldnt use a blendmount on the rs due to the rear view mirror stem being wrong, i still wanted it up there. So i got a suction mount forbit and it fits perfectly!! Better yet the mount is hidden behind the mirror...to the driver atleast ;)

Currently have it just showing intake temp, water temp, volts and rpm...but will decide on something else possibly rather then volts and rpm

Already used it to check the CEL codes ive had since day one...and they were only the tgv delete codes i was expecting which is a relief! It can also delete codes on the fly aswell

disregard the cable you can see...i will run that under the headliner and down the a pillar ;)

And no it doesnt interfere with the rear view mirror at all!

More pics once its installed properly
