So my carpet i got yesterday is in pretty damn good condition, had A LOT of crap in it lol....HUUMMMAANNN SSLLIIMMMEEEE!!

But the issue is its a very dark blue, and im pretty sure the RS carpet is like a dark grey or black.....so after a bit of research im on my way to lincraft to get a few bottles of Black RIT liquid dye and a few packet of RIT powder dye, gonna mix it it up with some salt and boiling water in one of my bins (after washing it lol) and soak my carpet for a week.....should come out nice and black i reckon...this thread shows how good it can come out

I want one 2. So nice.

Thats awesome Matt. Be interesting to see how long it holds up?

Knox Auto Carpets can't do a moulded RS one? They were circa $155 IIRC.

they have nothing on the site...but i like that the stock one has all the trim clip in place and all holes are correct....and the fact its all in one piece aswell

i think itll hold up good....and the fact that my carpet is already really dark should help matters i reckon....itll take a while...7 days soaking and a week of rinsing, drying, shampooing etc etc.....but the supra one came out mint!! and itll have mats on most of it so it should go alright

main thing is itll be better than that dye in a can spray job....not to fond of that shizz

and lincraft have 50% off the rit dyes atm....winning!!!

Well for that price, why not give it a crack, right?

Even if it lasts 12 months you'll be laughing.

Effort?? it took me less than 20 mins to pull the carpet out of the wreck...and my carpets just sitting in the car at with only two trim plugs under the dash holding it in....also...not too much effort mixing dye and sitting it in a tub, a little bit of effort rinsing it etc...but if it comes out half decent ill be cheering

I know if i just put this one in..than the blueishness of it will surely piss me off lol...may aswell do it now whilst its all out on the deck

DO IT ONCE, DO IT RIGHT

thats soo much effort for carpet!!

if i go to the trouble of pulling my carpet out theirs no way its going back in! :D:D

also i think me and you have different ideas on what we want out of our RS's lol

So got home today and got in my most crappy clothes...donned some gloves and started mixing up some dye...man this stuff messy lol

Used my green waste bin after I hosed it out...I also used an old broom to stir it in the bin, and the broom is now black so it must be decent lol

Mixed it with 2kg of salt, half a bin of hot water and a crapload of liquid and powder dye...its bblllllaaaccckkkkk!!!! Im gonna keep stirring the carpet for a bit tonight...than a few times a day for about a week...hoping it comes out nice and black :)

I also threw the kick panel carpet into the mix aswell so it ties together the same once in the car

Really keen to see how it comes out now....must be patient though
