EDIT, 25/03/2012

Hi, this is my gen3 liberty, or "Berty" due to the rear badge. It's a 99build 2.5RX.

I've had her for a tad over 2 years now, bought with 218xxx kms, and currently is just about to crack 250!

It was bought new in Queensland and made it's way down here!

I've done many aesthetic mods, but none engine wise.

Here's a list of mods

*Main
ROH Adrenalin 18inch, DIY Sprayed gloss black
Front tyres are merely Rotala's; Rears are Continental SportContact 3. I needa get 2 more!!
Bilstein struts, Kings in the front and Bee-R's in the rear
Integra Type R front lip, modded to fit
B4 294mm calipers, with slotted rotors (front) Red in colour
RFRB lookalike front grille
Rear lip spoiler, gloss black
twintip Walker muffler
20% tints, done by Shazz, 'Show us your tints'
6000k HID low beams, with anti-glare
SMD LED's Foglights to match
Orange LED parker lights
Darkened rear garnish and lights, Nightshades
Black mud guards front and rear
Stereo: Kenwood HU, Kenwood 6's fronts, Pioneer 6's rear, 625RMS (~1200W Peak) Fusion 'Powerplant' amp, with 1100W 12inch sub to match
Subaru 'WRX' gear knob

*Other mods
White LED map lights
White LED Strip expanding the width of the boot
White AND Red LED number plate lights
Improved the brake lights to some brighter LEDs
Improved the Reverse lights to some bright White LEDs
Red LED Dome light
Red footwell lighting
Red LED's in the dash cluster
Red number plates
Repco brand air filter
Rolled guards
Darkened side indicators
Sprayed the grey lower half of the front dash to black
Swapped the door cards for a newer spec, with different trim and all in black
Swapped the scuff plates to the newer black
Completely took out old, dirty, grey carpet and replaced with Blaaaack carpet from the newer revisions.
Various stickers!
Resprayed black sidestrip and mirror surrounds
Upgraded the battery about a year ago when the one in there started to die
Roof racks make an appearance periodically for beach or for snow.
Darkened headlight protectors make an even rarer appearance.

Can't think of anything else right now, but I'm sure I've missed one or two things.

*To do
Swap front springs from 'lows' to 'superlows'
Change the wood grain dash plastic -Vinyl wrap, or black plastidip/paint.
Second hand grille, half completed, full mesh design.
Possibly respray the boot as it is flaking
Fix 'strobe light' effect (lol) with the fog lights
...

The black carpet and the door cards are simply from a newer revision liberty. Got the carpet for next to nothing, the scuffs for free, and the door cards for 80 bucks.

New and Old.

As you can see, the old one was a bit dirty!!

And;

And pictures of the door cards and the scuff plastics:

And pictures of painting the dash pieces:

Bottom part is panted, the other grey part is the original.
Posted Image
After I did that I realised the carpet now really juxtaposed the new black and I already had the black carpet, but got my lazy ass round to doing it eventually lol.

Masked up
Posted Image

I did a couple coats of Flexi-Prime first.
Posted Image

Then followed with a few acrylic black. I believe it was a Satin finish. (Not mat or gloss)
Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Here's a before shot

Posted Image

And after;

Posted Image

Posted Image

So for the passenger side I left the main carcass in and masked it off to paint. Took out for painting, the glove box and the trim piece that runs along side the gear stick and into the footwell.

Some of the pictures after I changed the door cards actually still have the old drivers door, door card, as the loom for the window switches was a Posted Image'ing SOB and I only managed to get it out, and changed to the new trim, on the day I got my windows tinted which was about a month ago..

And for the Drivers side I took it all out for painting, as it was actually very easy to detach!

The one last thing that isn't up to scratch, is the crappy looking wood grain dash plastics. Which I shall spray black also.... OR I actually just ordered some interesting vinyl wrap that I will try out! And the style I've chose is.. original, lol.
And the seats could be changed also, tbh.

________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

OLD stuff.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Just chucking this up here as i dont have an actual build [mod] thread going...Will upload pics and continue to do stuff..

(to admin, We can't save a draft anymore?)

Recently,

Have removed "RX 2.5" from the rear badge
Clear coated rear lights
front lip is off for now
removed the rear spoiler -blu-tack covers holes (lol)
removed dash and glove box
removed seat covers -just cause. The disgusting 'EVERLAST' insignia had nothing to do with the desicion :sarcastic:

Plans for Berty:

In the process of cutting the lip to fit up higher on the front bar
bleck surrounds.
plans to lower.
pull guards
bought headlight protectors off Chris today, will bleck for daytime LOOKZ and easy on-off ability
bleck bonnet and boot, maybe.
bleck wheels are being painted. primer is on. slow, lazy process lolz
permanently keep on roofracks with 'USDM' front difuser thingy with stickerbombedness. -rear one too
put on mudguards, B4 rear splats, at long last..
Red SMD LED's for dash and HVAC.
fiddle around with LED's elsewhere; IE cup holder.
Additional reversing lights, as current is pretty abysmal. Out of line of sight.
Possibly bleck over middle section of rear light garnish.
replace head unit with one that has a working AUX jack.
Re-arrange system in boot.
De-orange front indicators
Replace broken parker lamps. -possibly with orange LED from superbrightleds.com.
red led dome light.
make indicators flash when (un)locking
Would love a Varex exhaust
And a boot lip spoiler would be sweet
Even fancied the idea of creating a black void of plywood/fiberglass below the rear bumper, might turn out shit looking though haha
GET FULLS
orange centre cap and wheel nuts

After riding in newer revision lib's, i noticed how much more luxurious they feel and pegged it to the colour theme! So I'm going to darken mine up quite a bit to match or something around about there! :)

so many plans lol. Plus more. Who knows how long it shall take..

Will update with pics and more later :)

The black grill ties in so well with the black lip.

Well done Dan.

When you say "blackout" the headlamp protectors...do you mean completely black?

As what about your indicators etc?

Indeed, almost completely black. Not painted black, but very dark.

As for indicators, I'm going to go buy a set of smallish orange lights from supercheap or some place and mount them next to the foglights, in the black surrounds. They'll be clearly visible there. :) thoughts?

EDIT. and wouldnt be used at night, hence easy on-off with use of velcro or similar

I've just decided to make them! Shouldn't be too hard/shitty looking im hoping.

lol... During tafe, I've even drawn up a quick design of some metal brakets to attach to the underside of the racks. As for the board at the front... plywood? fibreglass coating? paint and then stickers.. hmmm. what have you thought of morgs?
