Did this quickly today (monday arvo lol), A wind fairing. Went for a bit of an odd spin, using an old skateboard deck. Will take a picture of the finished product tomorrow morning once mounted. Painted it up black and the "burton" is the green wood grain underneath the stencils. Will also add some stickers to it.

Bout time Chris, huh? haha :)

The nuts and bolts here, on the top of the roof rack, are covered over by the rubber strip that sits along the top of the groove.

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

also make sure it doesn't rub on the roof and damage your paint. do you really need a wind fairing? my boards are fine on the racks.. that looks like it'd direct find into the board faster and with more direction than without it

Hahahaa so many people dislike it!
:)
yeah, I do think it's too small also.
It was too hard to find an old snowboard chris! :( And especially a small one.. In the end I thought, Posted Image it, I'll use the deck, see how it goes, knocked it up in about 2 hours plus drying time..
I think that overall I don't like the look of the roof racks on my car, so this probably won't be on it much of the time at all! :/

Aek, that's exactly what I was thinking, might not really be very practical..
And I know about protecting the paint, I've got some clear sticky tape on the deck around the contact areas.

It does look dodgy, I was hoping that, that would be part of it's success, like say the nuts and the stencilled "burton". But I guess not!

I don't hate it however, but in the end, I'll probably be just sticking this in my room somewhere; but not yet! :P

For now, here's a pic of the roof racks getting a workout today.

(I need to finish that last black strip, lol!)

I think the board would look good if you were going for some kinda ratrod theme of the whole car. I did notice towards the end of the 2011 snow season their was some cheap ex rental boards for sale at some shops in jindy. But it probably wouldnt be that much more for the actual fairing...

Haha, I did the black strip over a week ago :) I'm surprised how much of a difference it made to the car overall.
Don't know if i mentioned this further back, but I would've liked to go colour matched strips but that's expensive and a bit more effort, so i ended up just making what was there look nice and new again..

Next on the list; hmmmm
I've been wanting a new car for aaaaages!! A wagon, 100% sure; 90% a turbo, and 90% a Forester :D

But I may do a couple small-ish things to this before I sell; like window tints, as the current, factory tinting has turned to shit in a lot of places and is flaking off :( Window tints are a good starting point in order to make the car look more presentable for sale, especially seeing as they look like utter shit from the inside IRL.

Other than that, I've got the other grille to finish, some lower front springs to put in, change the grey carpet to black from a newer revision; annnnd probably fix up the air intake as a large hole where one of the factory resonator air box things has gone missing due to a previous owner, and as such is only covered by some tape lol.
Probably one or two other things around also :D

cheers for taking an interest mate :)

OH PS, I took the roof racks + that pretty horrid 'fairing' off bout 2 weeks ago :)
