Spent 3 weeks away camping, went back to work doing 5 x 12hr days a week and all the other stuff that need doing
Was primarily waiting on a mate to ginish the fmic bend into the throttle body as the old one didnt fit...was gonna just add 11cm of straight tube to it, but that looked retarded, so i got some 90 and 45 degree mandrel bends, some straight 2.5 inch and some 34mm for the bov barb and starting marking it up for my mate Nick to tig together at work

after he tacked it all together i test fitted it and all was gewd! Also got him to cut the beads off the old pipes and weld them onto the new ones as no one seems to have a bead roller

Anyways its all together now and i used some 34mm radiator hose for the bov until i het some silicone pipe in black for it...probably once everything gets powdercoated in a wrinkle black like the gen 3 was

So now im that one step closer to starting the old girl

The pipes arent finalized as of yet and will be tidied up when i get around to making a new bracket for the can to bolt to the strut tower

Also got the power steering setup all installed and roughly bled, got the PWR cooler painted black and used some leftover speedflow barbs and hose to connect it all up, came up rather tidy thanks to the extra room in front of the radiator due to no A/C
had to use a lancer ps inlet hose to get that bend into the pump as i gave my hose to Rob lol...all good...cost 50 cents approx

Also scored a much bigger GD style ps fluid reservior whuch has better positioned hose barbs....and being bigger is a bonus

and my backyard paint booth at work!

So the gc hose wouldnt fit without kinking?! And since i had a newish alloy rad i dont wanna put a gd rad in just yet.
So down to autobarn i went and spent half an hour looking through the pipework for one that may work...and i came up trumps with a commo VL 5L V8 lower radiator hose...i thought it'd be close...but after i cut the section i need out i swear it was designed for it as it fit perfectly! And all the stores have spares...and it was $10! Not $38 like the subaru one lol

now onto the little bits n bobs
Got the coolant system all fully plumbed up and tightened and filled up all up and burped the system of as much air as i could till the engine is running
Got the alarm hood switch trimmed and wired up so it was a heap tidier than it was when i got the car, its all running through the fender now

And last bit for the moment is that i wanted a stereo back in the car, as the car will still be registered...but i needed to ditch the heavy screen/dvd player one that was in it and find a cheap single din so i can use the 1.5 cubby hole i scored aswell
Along came the $99 kenwood media player...no cd player..just radio, usb, aux etc and weighs as much as a cd case...and is only 2/3 the depth of a cd player
So i tidied up the wiring monstrosity that was a stereo install and wired in the defi boost gauge whilst i was in there so the controller can fit into the 1.5 din cubby
Came up super tidy, very light and plays music! Oh and i wired in some good kicker splits that i scored free to the front doors and will not be running rear speakers

and last but not least i installed the defi controller into the cubby hole and had to repair one of the defi plugs that broke
Then put a battery on the car and tested the stez and the gauge....all is good! Though the light in the gauge didnt work? So i swapped the meter plug into the other daisy chain hole and all is now good

also primed the fuel system til it was free of air and left it over night to check for leaks as i had moved the injectors with the tgv delete install...all seems good atm
Everything else electrical seems good...just waiting to drain and refill the fuel tank (tomorrow) and plumb up some vacumm lines for boost control and it should be ready to turn over and make sure it starts!! Will be loud though as its 3 inch straight through to the diff
But if i can get it rolling onto a trailer i will send it to my mates to weld up the exhaust system
So yeah...not tonnes done lately...but im slowly getting closer and closer
One other thing...im still so stoked how perfectly the boost gauge fit in the dead centre of the tacho lol
And the genome gauge is the exact same green lighting as the dash so it fits in so well!

Just realized your low brake fluid light is on. Didn't think it came on with all the other lights, unless you have low brake fluid?
And yeah will take the lip for sure, i can try and smooth it out abit

With the key in the on position (engine off) does your handbrake light turn on and off with the lever going on and off?

Can confirm in my RS CEL comes on and park brake light stays on regardless of handbrake position with key set to ON.
