Can confirm in my RS CEL comes on and park brake light stays on regardless of handbrake position with key set to ON.

Thanks heaps for that...i have a feeling the park brake and brake warning light are connected somewhat till the engine starts

does the (!) Brake warning lamp stay on aswell until the car starts?

And ive solved the CEL...couldnt sleep as i was thinkin bout it...so got up and pulled the cluster

20150301_230225.jpg

No globe in it :D....they must have pulled it due to the aftermarket ecu that was in it

So off to the wreckers in the morning

Haha no globe! That's some good news and I can't wait to hear the car running and that is some nice intercooler piping :)

Cheers :)...the res of the kit is just a billsy spec piping kit for a rotated turbo which fits nice...actually surprised it fit so well on the new engkne as it was designed for the RS, its just that they moved the throttle body forward on the GD...so that pipe was 11cm off fitting.....easy fixed though ;)

Sweet, well hopefully once i put this globe back in everyrthing is as it should be :D

Sooooo...fuel tastes like ass lol

All drained and a full tank of fresh BP98 in the tank. Rear seats are now back in..so aside from the door trims the interior is back together!

So now just have the vacuum lines to finish up, give the intercooler pipes a wipe out to make sure theres no crap in them and throw the battery in and turn it over

Can not wait!

Start it! :P

Vac/boost control lines are done! And look tidy i reckon, i used the spiral bits off a few clutch soft lines to hold and guide the hoses. I will have to unplug the wastegate and boost sense hose, link them together and bridge out the wastegate straight to the boost sense so i run on wastegate pressure till the tune, as its got a run in tune still on the ecu

20150302_175239.jpg
20150302_175223.jpg
20150302_175202.jpg
20150302_175153.jpg

Due to rotating the turbo, the compressor barb fouled on the tgv housing. So i had to remove the barb and put an allen key bolt in it with some 3 bond to keep it in there

But alas, where dafaq do i get the boost signal from? I was gonna drill and tap the comp housing, but cbf as the turbo is installed already lol

Talking to Al (can not thank him enough, from my gen3 to this car he has been a wealth of knowledge and is always happy to offer assistance) boost is boost...so i just drilled/tapped and screwed in a barb into the first inch of the hot fmic pipework

Should work a treat ;)

20150302_175208.jpg

so the engine bay is pretty much complete to be able to start the engine... (not actually complete obviously ;)..).....just need to clean the cold side pipework out and put a battery in

20150302_175144.jpg

also put the accordian style RS shift boot over the 6 speed shifter....i have a gd sti setup to go on it eventually though ;)

20150302_175132.jpg

so yeah bit more done...still lots to do, but hopefully i can hear it turn over in the next few days!!!

Peace out! Im gonna go have a brewskie or two
