Nice one Matt.

You must be feeling all cuddly and warm right about now. :)

thanks Jase!
yep i sorta am lol.....was a good thing to tick off the shrinking list! And the first time ive seen the motor run so a bit of a fingers crossed moment hahaha

Good work!

cheers woberto!!! Its taken some time lol

Nice. :D
Nothing like that tentative moment on start up after putting in a new engine or converting an auto to manual.

Cheers Mark!

Yes...yes.....and yes!!!

So stressful getting everything ready and double checked before that "fork i hope this works" moment when you turn the key lol

So relieved!! But the sound stressed me out somewhat...and the smoke!! Omg so much damn smoke at first...which is expected...but still a bit stressful

Yeah boy!!!
Booked in for skids tune yet or one step at a time?

Bodywork finish up now and powdercoating bleck of anything possible...then ill drive it around for a week or two before a tune to make sure everythings ship shape for an e85 tune

So keen!!

At this rate it may just actually be done for HVC lol

Also....me being me..i couldnt let the car sit overnight with the thought of that plate making that bell like sound

So i dug in and got it out

20mins for the passenger side bolt

2hrs for the drivers side bolt

Feeeccckkkkk!!!

But its out!! More relief :)

This is where it was scrapping on...made such a bad sound lol...one section of the pressure plate was tapping it as well as the fly scrapping it...but it was good on the motor stand? Wtf?
20150325_200623.jpg

And the culprit!!
20150325_200631.jpg

So drove the car outta the garage today under its own steam for the first time since april last year and let her sit and idle for an hour giving it random revs etc to blow the cobwebs out. I was hoping to chuck some uec through but i forgot i used it all :(....off to subaru tomorrow for 2 cans i think

Seemed to get smoother the longer it idled which was good

Flywheel sound is all gone now aswell....much better sounding!!

Only issue now is the clutch pedal bite position is in the last 5mm off travel before i take my foot off.....its been a while since i drove the gen3 but i didnt think it was this high? I hear its a big issue with hd aftermarket clutches aswell?

Thinking i may put a few half turns on the clutch master cylinder rod to shorten it and see if it gets any better with every half turn

Apparently you only need like 1 to 2 turns for it to make a good difference

Any tips as always im all ears :)
