Yep...no way i would have paid full price.....but the ones i got were a steal in comparison

The gd ones ill be putting up for sale are the standard early front gd wrx ones (typical press in bearings like your current hubs)....so your shafts you have in now will slot straight in along with your abs sensors etc

I just put the longer wrx shafts in to cope with the extra track im gonna five it with the gd sti arms

But even the 05+ STi LIC/6 gun front hubs have the same spline...only the rear splines change between r160 and r180

So yep if you're interested ill PM you when i swap front hubs and see if you still want the wrx hubs :)

Yep, let me know man. Certainly interested.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it. In process of being stripped and sold off.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon. Scrapped.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. Scrapped.

MY13 BRG, current daily, very nice to drive, small mods to make it even nicer again.

Awww... shame about that cruise stick - looks better than the one I've got :(

That rear diff, it is an cLSD or open? Only asking as your rear inner axle cups are both the same length, where as a mate's rear LSD has one short and one long inner cup shaft into the diff.

Looks meaty! I wish I had r180 with an ARB locker (can't get the lockers anymore) but that's for a different use to what you're after ;)

Love the sticker too - how do you find your car at night when out and about? Is that why you've still got the gold rims :P

Cheers

Few parts arrived today

The GD STi spec C fe440 quickrack with new inner tie rods..many thanks to Kris at Rising Sun Subaru!!

My L&E fab custom steering knuckle

A zerosports radiator diversion plate

And my replacement sedan r180 shaft as i was sent a wagon one by mistake (theyre 10mm shorter)

Will give the radiator plate a lick of black and throw it on....and i have mon and tues off so hoping to get all my gd bits into the front end so i can then concentrate on putting the r180 bits on later

Hey mat the steering knuckle is that to make fitting GD on GC platform a breeze as i know its compatible if you have a knuckle?

I think the trouble is the length of the knuckle for the Foz, along with it being GC. wonder if they make one for foresters?

Will probably just get a 2.7 GC rack, as 2.2 GC is rocking horse shit I'm led to believe. All down the track but, went fine down wisemans yesterday.

2.7 makes a big difference on the street

MSR can make one for ya if you have your one and the sti one? Or the US mob makes them to size if you give them a measurement

Mick (msr) will weld one up for you if you know what length you need

A bit more black added to the engine bay today

A zerosports radiator diversion plate that has been temporarily blacked out till i do another powdercoat order

Hides the alloy radiator a touch which is a good thing

20150706_115227.jpg

also in other more exciting news

I am going back in for a retune on the 24th!!

With the alternator issues we had causing breakdown etc...it was also causing the fuel pump to get only 12.5v above 4000rpm.....this caused a lack of fuel pressure and in turn the boost was tapered off 3 to 4psi to cope with the drop in fuel

It was showing up as maxing out the injectors which mick said should have had 270kw in them

So now with a good alternator mick is sure we should be able to hold full boost pressure for much longer and hence get more power and more importantly torque out of the engine after 4000rpm :)

But on the last run my afm was absolutely maxed out...so a new 72mm CAI is on order to compensate for this

20150528_121000.jpg

you can see on the graphs that after 4000rpm the boost tapers way off...and the power curve stops its sharp climb at the same time...also the torque drops off in an almost linear line compared to boost

So fingers crossed that power curve will rise earlier and torque will hold on much longer....and possibly even get more top end power out of it

Not that i need it lol

So the GD track conversion and r180 rear end are being held off until after the conversion so that i dont get caught out with a car in pieces lol

Exciting times!!

But of tine to kill at work...so spent some more time prepping some bits for the GD track and r180 conversion

Put the r180 shafts back together with fresh grease and new boots after a full strip, wire wheel and clean...much better now, and will get a lick of paint asap

Also scrubbed the gd sti front alloy arms up to almost new as they were filthy!! Cone up good with a quick hit with steel wool

Before (and this was the good side)
20150708_141828.jpg

And side by side before and after
20150708_144803.jpg
20150708_144813.jpg
And the missus is away for four days two weekends from now....so the GD bits may be installed before the tune after all lol.....will see how we go gathering all the bits and having them all ready to go before i give the go ahead
