20150720_095852.jpg

one thing of note is i may have to pull the r180 again to send it away to set the backlash

As its a bit klunky on gear changes

Oh well....easy to do now ive fudged off the diff studs :)

Just when you thought it was over....

Got bored waiting to leave for the missus flight, so i ticked off a few buts i wanted to check before the re-tune

1: swap the engine bay fuel filter

The original filter would be lucky to have 3000km on it....but i have been told to swap in a new one after a few tanks of e85 due to it cleaning the fuel system out a bit and gunking up the filter

20150720_115309.jpg

Job done...was gonna cut it open and have a look see........but cbf

2: inspect and clean the oil catch can

This is the first time ive opened this up since installing it, and was half expecting sludge as ive seen on tonnes of other e85 powered cars

There is a touch of brake fluid in the container aswell...so its actually less ;)
20150720_121447.jpg
20150720_121502.jpg

What i found was perfect....lucky to be 10 to 15ml of nice clean oil...no sludge...and no oil making its way back into the intake

i think where its sitting it is keeping the can nice and hot..so its keeping the sludge at bay

Excellent!

Another job done :)

Only thing now is to change the oil and test fit the bigger intake (will be installed properly at MSR in the carpark) and its ready for another run on the rollers

Looking awesome mate! I highly doubt I'll ever own a ride this clean. I'm still in awe and reckon it'd look 1000 times better in the flesh!

Cheers

So many wows.

Wait till you see and hear it in person

This thing is mint. And is cleaner than 99% of all other Rs' out there. And the best thing about it is everything has been done the right way.

I need to get the Gen 3 up to this standard :)
( if Adam stops stealing all the parts I wanted )

This sounds like a plan, so long as you want to hang out with an old cubt.

So the day has come to throw the old girl back up on the rollers :)

Even though the oil is still fresh, i thought for a bit of insurance id change it out for some fresh stuff and a new filter

While the car was up i also test fit the new 72mm intake to make sure it was all good

It was spot on...bit different angles but a bit of tweaking and its all gewd :)

Shame i had to remove it again..just to install it again in the carpark at MSR lol

Meh its an easy change i suppose

#shedlyf
20150724_091746.jpg

the oil was super clean...e85 life i suppose
20150724_091718.jpg

one silly bit about the killer b headers is that oil goes all over them if you're not careful lol...worth it though!
20150724_101246.jpg

Little bit bigger
20150724_095413.jpg

20150724_094934.jpg
20150724_094809.jpg

now to pack some tools in the car and get my ass over to the workshop :D
