Hey Jay, can you please share how you raised the front number plate?

I'm planning on doing the same but not sure how...

Cheers.

Heres the fershizzle version: http://www.subyclub....ber-plate-lift/

I did it a bit more ghetto with two ~1" lengths of Al bar stock (approx 10x3mm). Holes at each end in each, use them as raisers by screwing one end into the bar, and the number plate into the other hole.

Basically the two short sides of the fancy version without the horizontal. I just used machine screws and self-tapped them into the Al.

Mine were done similar to above but using M6 nuts welded to each end of the length of metal.

So I went for a drive the other day with some mates and stumbled upon an RS40 WRX having some photos taken by a photographer. After we parked up, the photographer called us over and asked if we wanted some photos taken. Naturally we said yes because free photo shoot. The photos turned out pretty well I'd say and the owner of the RS40, Mr. Moox, was a pretty cool bloke. You can find the photographer's page here: www.facebook.com/stressedphotography

Thanks for the link :)

I have an Ultrex flexible lip but it's kinda ghetto and I'm keen to replace it!

Hi all :)

It's been a while since I've updated this thread. I've been busy with other things and didn't do much to the car for a few months.

I thought I'd get back into it and start fixing up a few things to try and get the car setup how I want it. My goal for the car is to have it drive nicely, handle well and have good stopping power without compromising too much on comfort. Based on my goal for the car, my plans are to replace the cannon muffler for a quieter oval one, install WRX bucket seats, replace/refurbish the Bilstein shocks and install lowered springs, redo the sound system and other electrical wiring, replace the front and rear brake rotors and pads and overhaul the calipers and completely clean the interior and exterior of the car.

As of current I've stripped the interior, carpet and all, and have been removing as much dirt and dust as possible and I've installed DBA Street Series T2 Slotted Rotors and QFM HPX Pads in the front and rear.

The car has been for a service at Subaru where it had a wheel balance and alignment, the A/C re-gassed, the cabin air filter replaced, the handbrake adjusted and the usual oil and filter replacement.

There are a few mechanical things that need fixing too which include the split driver side inner CV boot, the seized passenger side drive shaft, the leaking exhaust gaskets and the squeaky Bilstein shocks as well as other general servicing things such as replacing the windscreen wiper blades and tidying up the engine bay.

So that's where I'm at at the moment. I'm hoping to have it all done in the next few weeks as I'm considering attending the Hunter Valley Cruise. More updates to come, with pictures too!

Cheers,

Jay

Over the last few days, I've been stripping the interior and giving everything a clean...

csVaEqc.jpg

I know it's not the most thorough clean but I wiped down and vacuumed as much of the interior as possible. Found $10 under the carpet :D

I'll be re-assembling the interior once I've run the wiring for the sound system. This will give me a chance to give the carpet a good clean before it goes back in. I also want to re-tap the threads for the front seats and replace the bolts as they are all stripped and the head of one of the bolts has been broken off.

Here's my new audio equipment. Alpine goodness...

5NL1rRD.jpg

2kYlllS.jpg

I've installed 3 out of the 4 slotted DBA rotors and new QFM pads all around but one of the bolts on the rear right caliper has been rounded off so I'm unable to change the rotor until I can get the bolt off. I'll add some pictures of the new brake setup once I've finished.

Not much of an update but I thought I'd add what I've done so far.

Cheers,

Jay

Nice update.

I like a stripped out interior for a good clean. :)
