Great build thread.
Props to you for having a crack at most of the work yourself.
As Tony Montana would say:
In this country, you gotta make the money first.
Then when you get the money, you get the power.
Then when you get the power, then you get the women.

Looks great! I'm sure you will get bored of the TD04 in the coming months.

Rebuild the 22 and throw it on later!

Thanks Frank, the only work I wasnt really involved in was splicing the wiring harness...

Great experience though, I would recommend it for sure.

Yeah I suppose I will see how I go with a tune in the coming weeks, hopefully push a little more power and smoother ride my way, but I am yet to decide what I am going to do with the VF22, Id be looking at a good $800-$1000 at least to rebuild the turbo.
Still have to get the car engineered, and rego next month, so might be a while if I choose to go down that path.

Acquire a VF34. Pull off P18 rear housing.

Pull of P20 rear housing of VF22, and put on VF34.

Install the new hybrid turbo (VF34P20)

Poor boy PE1820. Google PE1820.

Spent another couple of hundred on a new muffler to replace the stock STi one that I had on.. It was just way too quiet.

New one sounds absolutely awesome!

I also got a flash tune done on the car tonight. Car runs a heap smoother and fuel economy is really good.
Having a problem with the boost though, it is still only reaching around 9-10Psi, and is set to 16Psi.. I am pretty certain I have a leek somewhere, so am going to change the 2nd hand BOV with a brand new Turbosmart Kompact BOV as soon as I can get my hands on one (most likely when I am in Sydney on Thursday)....
