Sorry about the BOV bro. Do you know where it's leaking from? Was fine on mine but in only running ~13psi.

Wish I was going to wtac to see this beast!

Spent another couple of hundred on a new muffler to replace the stock STi one that I had on.. It was just way too quiet.

New one sounds absolutely awesome!

I also got a flash tune done on the car tonight. Car runs a heap smoother and fuel economy is really good.
Having a problem with the boost though, it is still only reaching around 9-10Psi, and is set to 16Psi.. I am pretty certain I have a leek somewhere, so am going to change the 2nd hand BOV with a brand new Turbosmart Kompact BOV as soon as I can get my hands on one (most likely when I am in Sydney on Thursday)....

Turbosmart kompacts are the shizzz, pack about 10mm atleast of washers under the spring and theyre even better :)

That's all good mate. It's done the job for now anyway. :)

You should be able to hear the boost leak, shouldnt you?

Maybe you need to make a tester? And then send it my way :P

Snow :)

Unscrew the top cap (It's allen keys on the GFB one I think the TS is the same?).

Watch for the spring as the lid will pop off.

Take out spring and other internals.

Pack up with desired amount of washers.

Put internals back in and lid back on.

Win :)

Is there a benefit? What will it do?

The spring rate is shorter so you need to be really smashing full boost for the air to be released.

Therefore boost is held in the system more? :scratch_one-s_head:

Well because they're recirc BOV's, it will ll just vent back to the intake.

The washers compress the spring inside the unit increasing the tension do when she blows, she blows.

That's my understanding anywho.

Yeah but the trumpet won't fit on there because of the lines that run along the top mount...?
What's the blanking screw top?

ah ok, the bov normally comes with flex hose to replace the metal lines, so you can run the trumpet
the blanking screw top is for if you need to run it plumb back if you ever get defected etc ive never used mine tho

Ahhhhh yeah I understand now. There was a vacuum line in the box to replace that solid line..
And yes, I noticed the blanking plate. :)

What do you mean by the 20c piece trick though?

Righto guys, update time!

Car is running fairly good, other than the strange noise as if it is pinging when on full boost..

I have had the front bar and bonnet resprayed to their factory colours.
Very happy with the paint job!
Posted Image

Gave the car a wash/polish/wax the other night and detailed her right up...

Posted Image

Got some little blue screws for the number plates, looks 100% times neater IMO.

Posted Image

I am entering powercruise in Brisbane at the start of next month, so I decided to install a little fire extinguisher, just to be safe.

Posted Image
Will probably plastidip the frame its on black if I get some more time.

And stickers!!!
Posted Image

Most of the stickers on there are from people/business' that I have used to source parts, do work on or got information from during the conversion.
The sticker fad will probably die off, and Ill end up taking them all off hahaha.

I put the vacuum hose on underneath the intercooler so that I could put the trumpet on the blow of valve, im not sure, but it is now actually making some decent noise! I LIKE!!

So I am hoping to get the car on the dyno at months end to try and fix this pinging (i think) problem.

So next plans are:
1. Bought a set of unequal headers, should be here on Monday for install next week.
2. Got a Go Fast Bits Adjustable short shifter coming. Pick it up from work tomorrow.
3. Bought a Legacy engine cover, which i am hoping fits straight on, if not Ill make the sucker fit. :)
4. Purchased a cold air induction kit from the states, hoping it will arrive very shortly!

Just passed rego today, so stoked!

Cheers,
Sam
