Bumps charcoal set were indeed Foz ones. 17 x 7.5 +48. I know as I got them for him from Japan. They were mint though. He may have had a silver set also from memory that were +55 off a Club Spec 10.

Yup & yup.  The 48's he had on his GTB,  and they were so good.

Search for a set of them Mate, 55's are good but 48's are much better..

Sooooo....small update time

Past few weeks ive been working stupid shifts and trying to fit in work on the car to get it prepped for the weekend ;)

First up

Gave the ultraleggeras a wash and sent them to get the A050's put on....im really glad i went the 225/45 rather then the 235s as these fit absolutely perfect :) and being in the RS with not exactly tonnes of space in the guards, plus more offset, plus GD track etc they just fit without scrubbing lol

20150910_175154.jpg

Porn!!

And to cap off the set up i finally got in with peter over at road2race in Gosford.....such a nice bloke who is so eager to offer his knowledge and any assistance!
He spent 4 hrs on the car setting up a fairly agressive alignment that we both agreed on...thats -3 front, -2 rear and zero toe rear with 1mm toe out at the front to promote good turn in
He also tweaked my dampers a bit and explained why, and what things to change if i feel under/over steer etc

He also re adjusted my rear swaybar links as one was putting tension on it on flat ground...and recommended i grab some lateral locks as the rear bar moves around 2 inches under load which negates it a bit....all fixed now ;)

Considering the shitty tyrepower setup was mega forked it was amazing the difference this all made :) and the run back up the Kariong Hill left a huge smile on my face lol

Also..car looks amazing with the semis and the new rims......and that sorta race car camber lol

Dat rubber
1441933796458_edit_1442017130672.jpg

One thing i noticed with the soft rubber on these is they love to pick up stones lol.....even when cold they were throwing them all over the place hahaha

Lateral locks on the rear bar installed today

Ok...now after months of waiting for a banjo fitting for one of my catch cans off Troy at Pro Speed i got well over it and just grabbed one with a -10an thread that he actually had in stock and went down to pirtek to find something to fit my 5/8 hose

Easy done ;)

Its a steel one...but im now on the search for the same in bleck ofcourse from speedflow or some thing as i dont wanna paint this cause itll be undone regularly to empty the can

No more dodgy garden irrigation fitting lol

Adrian, aka Reevesy....found some gen1 monsoons on egay from NZ a few weeks back (thanks mate!!) And i was all over them! ;)

Theyre in great nick for 25yo plastic! Only missing one clip that ill replicate at a later date....after hours of agonizing torture removing the old adhesive they went on easy as...so happy!!

No more water dripping in when spraying the windows etc...and since i have no air con its a god send to be able to crack the window in the rain

Not that the window ever fogs up (thanks to rain x anti fog)

Annnndddd more lol

Car was due to have the first shot of coolant dumped as i have tried to flush all my fluids at least once since the swap

Scored a lisle coolant funnel locally as im over doing it with Coke bottles lol

So much win!!!
20150909_172216.jpg

Whilst i had the coolant dropped i swapped in some new hoses...bottom radiator and both heater hoses as 2 were off the rs and were old...and one was off the gd and looked shite

Happy days now

Obligatory pic of coolant being poured in lol
I always pour it in via the turbo return hose as it seems to bleed quicker

Porn!!

Nice fit indeed.

I think the 225 was a wise choice for track work.

Nice fit indeed.

Seeing as theyre 8 inch rims i would have loved to make use of the extra width and gone 235...but theyd look buldged on these...these tyres wouldnt look outta place on an 8.5 inch rim either

Porn as usual

Haha cheers bru

I think the advantage of extra tread with a 235, would be more than cancelled by the tyre rolling around more on the rim.

Very true...if it was a typical road tyre 235 itd be just fine

But these A050s are kinda as wide as the next size up lol

Man, that looks awesome on the track rubber and new suspension set up.

Any basic tips on how he set the dampers up? Are these better with a stiffer rear than the front?

Having my lap dash this weekend its all going to be trial and error for me as to what works and feels good, as I'm new to having any adjustability.

It does ay lol...its all set up atm with the rear seat out, harness in and numbers on and i cant stop staring at it lol

Atm i just have them set back 10 clicks from hard all round...and have the rear bar on its mid setting

Using that as a base to play around with for now as its all on how the driver likes it....and since im not racing on a smooth and flat track he said to bring the damper softer to let the shock actually do some work

Ill mess with it and see how i go :)

I found that if all the other bits of the suspension are upgraded that having the dampers on 0 was ideal. Plenty of travel for poo roads and the rest of the suspension can do its job. That was what i found for HVC at least, those roads are pretty poo so might not be super accurate for a decent mountain/hill climb road
